So, I LOVE ice tea. I'm not a soda drinker at all. Typically have water or iced tea. I know my Dr said that it was fine, but I just went to lunch at McAllister's and they have HUGE cups for their iced tea. Out of curiousity, I checked the caffeine count online and it said that tea and soda are about the same. Now, I'm freaking out! I usally only have one iced tea per day, but now I'm worried that even that is too much. Anyone else drinking tea???
Re: Who is drinking iced tea?
One tea or soda isn't bad. You'd have to drink like 10 to get the amount that is "bad" for the baby.
Plus tea has some kind of acid in it that kinda counts/takes the caffeine out... I can't remember what it is... (supposedly... this is what I have heard)
Newly engaged and TTC
Im drinking tea and soda like it's going out of style.
my doc is not concerned.
enjoy!
I'm not drinking iced tea but I do let myself have 2 Diet sodas per day... Granted, I only have those sodas 2 or 3 days per week.
I miss Iced Tea... I don't think there's any reason not to drink it, as long as you're staying under the recommended 300 milligrams of caffeine per day.
I have read in several places that it is perfectly fine to have 300 mg of caffeine a day. ?
Tetley/Lipton - 1 cup =40mg.?
I drink at least 32oz of iced tea every day.
I have it fresh brewed and unsweetened, and I am not at all worried about it.
I drink tea a lot, and I'm not worried about the caffeine, because I know I don't drink anywhere near going over the recommended caffiene intake.
At home I brew the Lipton decaf tea and sweeten it with Splenda.
Yes, I drink it. Yes, there's caffeine in it. No, I don't worry about it.
Even the jumbo cup from McAllister's (which is some darn good tea, and I'm not a huge fan of sweet tea) doesn't have enough caffeine to be problematic.
Honestly, I'm more concerned about drinking things like sweet tea because of the empty calories than the caffeine. I generally stick with water.
