So I had to be admitted on Wednesday for contractions that were 3min apart.  I had a lowgrade temp (99 degrees), which I had NO idea why, neither do they, no apparent infection, but my cervix was still closed.  I had been drinking plenty of fluids...I thought, but I got 2 bags of IV fluids and my temp went away and then the contractions slowed.  They then discharged me.  I was instructed to take it easy, but no work restrictions ( I am a nurse and on my feet ALL day long for 12-14hrs).  I took yesterday and today off and am supposed to work this weekend then have an appt on Monday.  They said they didnt really want a baby when I was there last as I was only 35w3d.  Monday I will be 36weeks.  So...no really probs yesterday and I kinda took it easy, but still cared for my 2 1/2 yr old DD, today all I did was take her to daycare and came home and am having lots of pelvic pressure and uterine tightening whenever I am up walking at all.  If I lay down it stops, but I guess I am just concerned bc I am supposed to work this weekend and wondering if this means this baby probably wont make it to my EDD (9/21....or 9/14 is my csection date) and I should just try to make it to 36weeks...Apparently the contractions I was having the other day didnt change my cervix, but I have no idea how the pain I have when up walking cant change anything!  Any similar experiences? TIA!

Re: At what point will they not STOP contractions....
Not on the subject necessarily, but just wondering
If you go into labor before your scheduled c-section do you try to deliver vaginally or do you just have an early c-section?
I think every situation is different. Since your labor wasn't true labor they wanted to fix the problem that was causing the contractions, because it was probably putting stress on your body, but the baby wasn't ready to come out yet. And it was a fix that didn't have any risks (just giving you fluids). If it was true labor they may not have stopped it, because the interventions to stop it may have more risks than having the baby at this point.
With my high BP my doctor told me 36 weeks. But that could be just because of my particular situation.
On the OP - last time out I think it was 36 weeks that they wouldn't stop things, but they also said they wanted the baby to weigh at least 5.5 lbs., so if you're near that mark and they think the baby is still small, they may stop labor to give her more time to grow.
Depends why they scheduled the c-section. If they scheduled because you were overdue they'd almost certainly let you try to deliver vaginally. If you had a previous section and the hospital doesn't allow VBAC, if the baby or the placenta is malpositioned, if there's some other reason why it's dangerous for you to labor or deliver vaginally, they'd do the section early.
I am also having a c-section. As for the question about what they would do if I did go into labor before my scheduled date, for me, they would definitely just do the c-section early.
