Ok, for newbs this is how it works: share healthy recipes, fitness / nutrition tips and anything helpful relating to healthy living.
My tip for the week:
I have found that greek yogurt is a fantastic substitute for sour cream in almost any recipe. It has tons of protein and fiber and much more nutritionally complete.
I recommend using it for homemade tzasiki (sp) by mixing with shredded cucumber, a little garlic and lemon juice. I then like to spread it on a pita and cover with diced chicken, cucumbers and tomatoes!
Re: Skinny GP check in (better late than never)
I love whole-wheat couscous. It tastes the same as regular (esp. when cooked in chicken broth), and it's great to have around in the summer since it's good warm and cold.
Wash it down made with a margarita made with fresh-squeezed lime juice sweetened with Splenda to taste (rather than a mix)....yum!

Ooh! I like this idea.
I am also trying to get off the artificial sweeteners.
Another tip: remember that sugar / honey / agave syrup all have calories. Doesn't matter where they come from or what their GI index is. Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean that your body won't store it as fat!
So you mix the yogurt and the powder? Or the yogurt w/ the pudding mix already made?
I love choc peanut butter smoothies I use:
1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
Drizzel in some lite choc syrup
add some milk to mix in blender
= yummy!
Just found this delicious looking recipe! I can't wait to try it!

I hate cutting up fruit and veggies so I have found that it's easier to cut them all at once Sunday afternoon and place them in smaller containers so throughout the week my salads and snacks are already prepared I just have to add low cal dressing to the salad.
This saves time during the week, and makes healthy snacks readily available.

Yeay! it is def yummy, i was thinking about it last night and you will need a couple scoops of vanilla froz yogurt, more than a cup, or you could add some ice, that might work better.
Highly recommend the book 'Abs Diet for Women' - recipes, workouts, grocery lists. I have yet to make the big 'life change' but it's got a ton of great information!
