How can I be vitamin D deficient

If I take prenatals, plus a Viactiv supplement, and also jog for an hour in the sun every morning (w/o sunscreen.) I am baffled. That has got to be at least 300% of Vitamin D between the three. Any ideas???

  • Can you get retested? Lili was tested for her iron once, and they completely messed up her results, saying she was severely deficient.

She wasn't at all, we found out, after they retested. I say retest. Do not do anything differently than what you are doing. Too much vitamin D can't be a good thing.

  • You can't OD of vitamin D - if your body has too much, it just flushes it out.  I laughed when I saw some vitamin  tabs in the store that said 1000mg.  Thats way over your daily amount and you just piss it away.
  • that is what i'm thinking, unfortunately we are leaving for a 3 week vacation on saturday. so i won't be able to have bloodwork done for another month.

i will not google, i will not google, i will not google. i am sure it will tell me i have a horrible disease.

  • You get much more vitamin D from the sun than from any other source.  Can you up your outside time?

Ditto this--and make sure you aren't putting on sunscreen or wearing makeup with a lot of sunscreen.  It blocks Vitamin D production.  Of course, you also don't want to get burned:(

Vitamin D is just like Vitamin C in that you can't really have to much. If you have more than your body needs it eliminates it.
