If you use a seatbelt - not LATCH

I was registering at BRU today and I found this -

https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2267437&fromRegistryNumber=41272049&product_skn=595241

I didn't know about this thing.  I don't think it was out when we were all pg before, but it sure looks handy.  I hate the metal loop that comes with the seat!  I use LATCH in my car, but we are constantly going with friends and using a seatbelt - this will be so much easier!

Re: If you use a seatbelt - not LATCH

  • It looks great but...please, please, please know that it has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and may work against the safety of the carseat.  When they do the federal testing, they don't use any of these types of products so there is no way to know if it will stay secure in a crash or not.  Just want you to be aware of the cons so you can make an informed choice.

  • I don't even think you  have to use that metal loop that comes with the seat.  We get our belt more than tight enough (and locked too, any remotely new car has locking seatbelts, just pull it out all the way first) without the metal loop.
