Survived the first day of daycare!

Yesterday was DS first day at daycare.  My mom watched him for the first year but she has a new grandbaby now who needs his own time with grandma.

It was really tough.  I dropped him off and he just stood there staring at the other kids.  He has not been around any children so I think he was in awe.  He thought he was the only kid in the entire world for a whole year : )

I said goodbye and bawled as soon as I got to my car.  Called at lunch and they said he was having a great day.

He only has to be in 2-3 days at most.  I love the daycare and the teachers and I'm sure he's having a blast and will make some new friends.

It gets easier, right?

    It does get easier i think LOL , I just started DD in a in-home daycare w/other children too this week.. she has been w/grandma since 3mos.. She is doing great I think we made the right decision , they need interaction w/other kids.. And to learn to share, etc and that life is not always about them ya know at grandma's it was all about DD, unfortunetly life isn't like that so i think it's a good move.. GL to you and your DS for the rest of the week..

    good for you! We're going to try daycare again in 2 weeks.  It has to get easier!!

    That's good news.  Everyone says it's gets better.  My DD starts daycare next week, so I hope it's true!

    It gets so much easier!  We were in the same situation - my mom watched DD until she was about 11 months old, then we put her in daycare Tues-Thurs.  The first day I was a wreck and called to check in on her.  Of course she was fine and having a great time.  As the days passed, it got easier and easier, but I know the feeling - it's so hard!  GL!

    Hmmm, I didn't even know they did things like that.  We were there twice already.  Once for the tour and once for orientation when he met his teachers.  I'm sure everything will be fine.
