PIPs our recent trip to The Shedd Aquarium.

Here are some pics of our trip to the Shedd Aquarium a couple weeks ago.
The kids had a really good time.

You can kind of see it in the water.

Even though it was raining a little, we decided to go on a walk around the Shedd.

Everyone always says what a big head Ds has. As you can see above, he gets it from dh. Anyways, we saw this huge head and thought it would be a great photo opportunity to get ds with it. (kind of like, hmmm, at least my head isn't THAT big) lol

  • I think this will be a winter field trip for us.  The pics are adorable.

  • ahhh I am jealous. We went to Chi this past weekend and we were going to go to Shedd aquarium, but unfortunately it wasn't in the  budget once we found out the cost. That city is way more expensive than I thought it was going to be.

  • how fun :) and great pics
  • I was just talking to DH how I want to go and bring Sam.   Shedd's is the closest aquarium to us and even then, it's 3 hours away.  But I love Chicago so I think we are going to try and go this fall/winter.  By then, Sam will have much more fun there.  He loves fish tanks so I know he'll love Shedd's.

  • For some reason both dd and ds got in for free. I'm not sure if it was a special that day or if the cashier didn't think dd was 3 yet. I had the double stroller, so maybe she thought they were twins. Who knows. It ended up costing like $50 fo rdh and I.

The food was pretty expensive too. If you do end up going, pack your own lunch.

  • I love the Shedd!  We're members, so we go every couple weeks or so.  My DD LOVES it...she can stand by the Caribbean Reef (the circular aquarium right past the entrance) for hours if I'd let her. Sometimes we just go because I have a craving for Dippin Dots LOL

As an FYI...the Field Museum has a kids space called the Crown Family PlayLab that is SO fun. Even my DD who is only 15 months has such a good time there.  They have a forest scene and real animal costumes the kids can put on, an art room/studio, and a lot of hands on stuff.

Glad you had a good time!
