Baby Showers

Guest List Question

Hi Ladies,

A friend of mine has offered to throw me a shower (VERY SWEET OF HER!)  We have a lot of friends in the area-and I have no idea if we will get another shower (we are grateful for just one!)  I'm curious as to how many people should be on the guest list though.  I don't want to overwhelm her at all, but I don't want to offend anyone by not inviting them.  Does that make sense?  So how many is reasonable?  How many is to much?

TIA!

Re: Guest List Question

  • I would run it by her. Ask her how many guests she would like on the guest list. Then you will have a better idea, and can tailor your guest lists to that number. Good luck :)

  • I would def check with the host to see what she was thinking.

    Ditto on asking her--

also i think it is safe to invite 10-20% more than the max--as that many people usually cant make it

  • Talk to your host because a lot would depend on where the shower will be. For a home shower, I think the guest list should be small 20-25 people or so. Think about how crowded someone's living room gets with a lot of people. I went to a wedding shower with 50-60 guest in someone's house, there was no where to sit and it was very hot and uncomfortable.

  • ok, so just think of this.............not everyone you invite will come, but they will have an invitation if they still want to get you something. My sister is giving me mine and I gave her my number and made sure it was ok. She was totally fine with it. But just because you invite 60, I would say your more likely to get around 40 guests there. Good Luck!
