shopping cart covers

I am looking to get shopping cart covers since my boys are outgrowing the infant seats and are sitting up pretty well. I don't know if I should get two single or a double. I know I will always then need someone else to tag along to push the other cart, but can shopping carts at grocery stores and other stores accommodate two babies? I know places like Costco have oversized carts that can, but what about other stores. Don't know how often I will be able to use a double...thoughts? Oh, I was also thinking of the singles so I can use them in restaurant high chairs.

    I'm the same place you are.  I wound up getting one single and one double...but I got them at a moms of multiples consignment sale so they were cheaper than buying them new (I think I paid less than $30 for both of them).  My rationale is that there aren't many places that have double carts, but we frequent Sam's and Costco enough for a double to be worthwhile.  In terms of the single, I figured I can just take one DD with me to the store or if necessary, carry one (Bjorn, etc) and put the other in the cart.  Good luck!

    Just get two singles.  If you are in a place like Costco with a doubele cart, you just put both singles on, one on each side - it works fine.  And they are great for high chairs too.  I don't see the need for a double.

    Don't know where you live, but Wegmans' new carts hold 2 kids :) ?Just another way in which Wegmans is superior to all other grocery stores... (I love Wegmans!)

    I use a thicker baby blanket in the carts - I actually didn't know they had double ones!  oh - most grocery stores have those ridiculous-looking carts that I used to curse out - the ones with the car on the front - they are now a lifeline for me - DD goes in the car in the front and my boys sit in the basket part - it is a double, but it is on the smaller side.  My boys are almost a year and they both still fit though.  Not sure if they would both fit with a bulky cover....
