OBGYN recommendation?

Good morning!

I may be in the market for a new OBGYN depending on mine's helpfulness coming up in the next few weeks.  I've been TTC for over 2 years now and am nearly 36 but he feels I don't need any b/w at this time.  I think that's crazy!  Now it could be that the nurses are not relaying all the information to him and I'm hoping to talk directly to him tomorrow, but if he truly feels this way, I think I will be looking for a second opinion.

Any recommendations?  I live in Ross Township and work in Moon.  My current OBGYN is at St. Clair so any of those areas would be fine with me.  Also, any experience with/recommendations for an RE?  TIA!

Re: OBGYN recommendation?

  • I agree that if you've been TTC for 2 years it is time to investigate further why you haven't been successful.  I believe most doctors say a year and some say if you are over 35 that they will start to investigate after 6 months.

For infertility I have a client who has used Reproductive Health Specialists with great success.  They have two offices.  One is in Penn Hills and one in Wexford.  They deal with RE and infertility.

As far as Ob's go I had a client who used Dr Signorella at St. Clair and she loved him.  I can't really offer and opinion because I only met him for about 10 minutes at the birth.  I personally love the Midwives at Magee or Patrick Thornton who is also a midwife.  The Midwives at Magee have 3 offices (at Magee, Cranberry and Mt. Oliver)  and Patrick's office is in Squirrell Hill.

I hope you find out something at your appointment with your current doc.

  • Thanks Amy - I have heard of the Reproductive Health Specialists.  I will have to look into them.  I'm not sure if I'm at the point of going to an RE or not but I'm glad to have the recommendation none-the-less.

My current OB is actually the doctor who shares office space with Dr. Signorella and St. Clair.  Unfortunately, Magee doesn't participate with my insurance so I wouldn't be able to use them.

    Thanks for the information!

  • I go to Moraca and Associates.  They're in Sewickley and have Moon Offices too.  They deliver in Sewickley.  I don't know the number, but you can google them and get the info.  I asked fror b/w and stuff after 3 months of not getting pg, and they were ok with it.  I've only seen Dr. Cirucci so far, but I've heard great things about all of the Drs.

  • I started seeing a specialist about two years ago and got pregnant twice since then. Once a miscarriage but still it was amazing how quickly it worked for us.

I can not say enough good things about my doctor and his nurses. He is in the Magee Hospital. Dr. Sanfillippo. Fifth floor. If you  need a number or just someone to ask questions about let me know. I have had a lot of expierence. It will so be worth it.

  • I go to OBGYN Associates of Pittsburgh over in Oakland on Blvd of the Allies. I've been rotated through almost all the doctors except one and so far they've all been great, friendly and knowledgeable.
