Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

First post ever :(

Hi ladies,

I've been reading the posts on this board since my d&c on 8/6.  I'm sad that I'm here (of course) but I felt compelled to join because I have been so inspired by how supportive you all are and would love to help other mommies who have gone through this and "talk" with women who understand.

My husband and I saw a nice, strong heartbeat at 7w.  The baby stopped growing the next week, but my body didn't recognize anything was wrong.  In fact, I all of a sudden had more pregnancy symptoms at 9 weeks...I feel like my body let me down because it let me believe everything was okay for 3 weeks and it very much wasn't.  Ugh.

Re: First post ever :(

  • I am SO sorry for your loss... Crying  Unfortunately I know how you feel... I was 11 weeks and our baby had passed at 8w 2d (I had no idea!) My symptoms were still there just not as much, I thought it was just cause I was almost to the 2nd tri. I had my d&c on friday and I have no more symptoms =( i feel so empty inside....

The girls here are very supportive and caring! It's nice to know that you are not alone sometimes, even through the toughest hour.

Again I am so sorry for your loss....

  • I am so very sorry for your loss.  You are right this board is a wonderful place for support.  While it is such a heartbreaking experience, this board makes it a little easier to cope.

  • Im so sorry for your loss and that you had to join us.  But this is a great group of ladies here.  Very supportive.

I had a similar situation in October - my body didnt recognize that I had a BO and two weeks later I had to have a D&C.  I too felt like my body let me down.  :(

  • I am very sorry to hear about your loss. It is always difficult to welcome another woman to this board. Sadly, I had a very similar pregnancy loss this month too. Our first baby had a strong HB at 7 wks and stopped growing at 9wk 2d. We discovered our loss at NT scan, and had a d&c last week. I too feel betrayed by my body for not knowing our baby was gone for several weeks too. My heart is aching for our baby and for all of the other mommies on this board, but, it does feel better to have the support. Please take care of yourself and your relationship with your SO. I don't know what I would do without my Husband's support. Again, I am so sorry.
  • I am sorry for your loss.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you've decided to post.  It helps me a lot to be able to talk to other women going through this, and I hope it will help you too.

We also saw a nice strong heartbeat and the baby was growing right on track, and then suddenly it wasn't.  I don't understand what could have happened, but I also feel like my body betrayed me.
