Toddlers: 24 Months+

~~~MorracoJade~~
saw your post on montessori schools on AP board.  I've looked up a few here in town (one Waldorf style), and they are all just school-year, school-hours programs.  You can do a half day or a full day, but the full days are still like from 8:30am - 4pm.
Both DH and I work full-time and these are schools are about a 20-30 minutes drive from our home.  There is no way that I could work a 40-hour week and have her attend these schools.
Do you know how that works from your experience?  It might be a better question for the working moms board (i can't remember if you WOTH or SAH).  But you know so much about them.
Thanks!
Re: ~~~MorracoJade~~
  • I WAH and WOH.  My hours are quite flexible for the most part.  Yay!
    I'd call the individual schools.  Some might have early drop off/late pick up times if you arrange it in advance.  The kids in the full day program at DD's school can be there from 7:30-5:30. So that's a definite perk of AHS.
    If you don't have any luck with that, it sounds like you'll have to enlist the help of a friend/relative to help drive.  Or, if you and DH are a bit flexible, perhaps one of you can go to work early, so you can pick your girl on time... and he can start late, dropping her off first.  (or vice versa.)  That might work?
    Also, since you read my post on AP, you'll see I'm not a fan of Waldorf now that I've really looked into it.  Is this place just Waldorf-style esthetically, or is really following Steiner/anthroposophy?  If it's the latter, do your research.  A person needs to know what they're getting themselves into with Waldorf.  :(    I'd be happy to point you to some sites for info if you're interested/curious.
