Emily is almost three and she recently learned to dress herself. She changes her clothes at least 6 times a day and it's driving me batty. At the same time, I don't want to stifle her sense of accomplishment or discourage her from it because it's obviously a skill-set that one needs in life:) Any ideas for me on how to allow her to get all the practice she desires but minimize the amount of clothes she goes through in a day?
Re: Does your 3y/o change their clothes all damn day?
Do you have dress up clothes? DD has a dresser and she isn't able to get the drawers open on it yet (the drawers are kinda long so you need to pull both handles at the same time and she can't reach both of them) and I have locks on the closets so the kids don't pull them apart 10k times a day. She has access to her dress up clothes and she puts them on and takes them off ALL.DAY.LONG.
At least that's not increases my laundry load or making me have to fold any more clothes than I have to!
Yes! He changes all the time. I don't really know what to do about it. I put back stuff that hasn't been worn very long and is still clean. I do seem to have more laundry from him though. Half the time I can't tell if it is dirty or clean.
No, Brittyn doesn't even attempt to change her clothes. I know she can change her pants but I don't think that she can change a shirt w/o help.
She occassionally asks for me to put something on her, like a tutu or she loves to play dress up in my petticoat props.
