Hi. Haven't been on the board for a while. Had my D&C on 5/28. Spotted one month later - literally one light pad. I started tracking my cycle (via CBE) so we could start trying next month, and I noticed I didn't ovulate at all this month. My unhelpful nurse said to wait 6 months total and go to a reproductive endocrinologist. Pretty sure my high risk OBGYN wouldn't agree so I got an appt for next week.
My question is did any of this happen to you? I talked to my friend (endocrinologist) who said I might need Clomid to restart my ovulation. Any tips would be helpful. TIA
Re: Anyone else not get their period 3 mos after D&C?
I'm sorry that you are going through this. ?I had a miscarriage in March and did not get my period yet and it is really emotionally draining as I am anxious to try again. ?In April they discovered they did not get all of the tissue (so if you have not already checked this, have them check immediately). ?They did this by an HCG test and an ultrasound. ?I then had a repeat D&C and confirmation that everything was removed. ?I insisted that they use a hysteroscopy at the same time so that they would not miss anything again. ?
?After waiting another 6 weeks and still no period, they started doing all sorts of blood tests and everything was coming back normal. ?They then gave me Provera to jump start my period, but nothing. ?Then they moved to Clomid. ?I was somewhat monitored and they believe I ovulated, but still no period. ?A month later without Clomid I believe I ovulated again and my period should be coming any day, but I don't believe it will. ?They also suggested putting me on birth control pills, but then changed their mind. ?I should also mention that they noted my uterine lining is thin, but is slowly getting thicker.
?On Monday I am getting an SHG to look for any scarring caused by the D&Cs. ?This is called Asherman's syndrome and is supposedly rare.??Good luck and hope that all you need is Clomid to do the trick.
Mine took 16 weeks. Took 5 weeks for beta to come down, then had what was most likely anovluatory spotting on and off from weeks 5-12, then finally ovulated week 14, then got AF at 16 weeks. No meds since I had labwork/ultrasound that all looked good so Ob thought it was just a matter of time. And she was right, but I wanted to strangle her at the time since many Ob's will give Provera or Provera/Clomid.
