Awww, I am sorry. I (myself) was born breech and my hips were found to be dilocated at 2 mos. My mom said I had to be in traction and wore a half body cast for 2 mos. She said it was horrible (for her). I am saying all of this to say, that I have NO memeory of this and grew up a very healthy, active kid. I wish you and your LO the best of luck!
I had hip dysplasia as an infant. I also wore the brace. I still have hip pain occasionally but I have not been limited at all growing up. I don't remember it at all.
My bio mom also had hip dysplasia that wasn't discovered until she was 4 years old. They had to do surgery to reset both her hips and she was in a hip spica cast for a year and had to learn to walk all over again. I guess I'm saying, glad you caught it now!
Re: Anyone else living with a splint for hip displacia?
Sorry to hear your little girl has to wear a brace. Is she wearing the Pavlik Harness?
I don't have experience with hip dysplasia, but I know a bit about it. There is a support group over on Baby Center: https://community.babycenter.com/groups/a1489605/hip_dysplasia_kids?
Hang in there! All the best to you and your little girl!
