I got a coupon in our Clipper Magazine for $40 (regularly $185). I have been in my house for 2 years and have never had it done. My house is generally very dusty/hairy because I have 3 dogs and 3 cats, I am constantly vacuuming the vents. Do you think I should go ahead and get it done? Do you think that it will help my heat/AC work better? Because their performance now is mediocre at best.

Re: How often do you have your Air Ducts cleaned?
I had mine done last year (had been in the house for 4 years). I talked to our furnace guy and did some research and found that the cheap places use a glorified vacuum and don't really clean the ducts. If you want it done right it should cost around 300-400 for a 1000 sq ft house (we paid 350), they should have a truck with the vacuum thing and hoses and brushes connected that they bring into the house, they should use a camera to show you before and after pics well inside the ducts.
