What do kicks feel like?

I know what actual movement feel like but, what about kicks.  I have been having this sensation the last few week where it feel almost stabing like it stings.  I have noticed it more and more the last few days and afterwards i feel movement.  Could this be a kick or is it just gas or something?

Re: What do kicks feel like?

  • Where is the pain?  I was having shooting pains in my vagina and someone told me that was a baby kicking my cervix.  I'm not sure, you might just want to call your doctor.  The "kicks" I feel don't hurt at all.

  • Doesn't sound like kicks to me, but this is my first LO. Whenever I feel him kick, it feels a bit like a muscle spasm, but once you start feeling that, you can distinguish the difference between muscles and your LO. I've never had my kicks be painful- they can be uncomfortable depending on how hard your baby kicks you, but I don't know that I've ever heard of them "stinging."

Not disputing this, but I've never experienced vaginal pain when the baby was kicking my cervix. He has definitely been kicking me there (sometimes quite hard) but I haven't had any pain associated with that. Not saying my experience is necessary the norm, I just haven't heard of that being painful for most women.

  • Yea my kicks feel nothing painful! Just feel like a small tap coming from the inside! At first I thought it was gas at times but then it became very obvious! If you're feeling pain it probably is something else!

this, exactly.  my LO's kicks has never been painful and the best way for me to describe them is tiny muscle spasms.

  • When I feel a kick it feels like a muscle spasm/twitch.  They sometimes hurt but not a stabbing stinging hurt but more like a really quick passing charlie horse.
