Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Giving back...

So ladies... I need to draw on your experiences.  I'm thinking of starting a nonprofit agency that connects with woman who have had a pregnancy loss.  It would provide a "buddy" who would bring over a meal that first week and do outreach (a woman who had had a loss or a pro bono counselor, still figuring that out).  The buddy would have access to services in the area they might find useful and kind of be a light in the dark of the journey.

I'm still working on details, but what do you think?  Would this have helped you had it been offered?

I even have a name.  Days Of Plenty.  For that song that reminds me of my Ella.

  • I think it's a wonderful idea.  If you do decide to do it, let me know, I know a huge group of women that suffered losses and I'm sure that alot of them would love to sign up to help.  I love the name as well and if it's a tribute to Ella even better!

  • Excellent idea! I've actually started the paperwork for my own non-profit for cancer research.

If you need anyhelp, let me know!

  • That sounds like an absolutely perfect idea!  And I bet you could get the local churches to help too (well at least I know mine would).  I would be more than willing to help!

  • I think it is a great idea, it would give people someone to talk to that understand what they are going through.
  • I also think it is a great idea.  If you do go forward with it, please let me know.  Sometimes my law firm agrees to help with obtaining 501(c)(3) status for non profits on a pro bono basis and if you get to that point, I'd love to try to get them to help.
  • That's a fabulous idea! I am definitely interested, and I think it would have definitely helped me out in my time of need.
