2nd Trimester

We got the kids up at 3 a.m.

to go outside and watch the perseid meteor shower.  It was amazing, but man am I tired!  The best viewing hours for our area where supposed to be from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. so when I got up to pee around 3 I went outside to check it out.  I saw 5 meteor within the first few minutes I was out so DH and I got the 2 oldest kids up and packed them outside for about 30 minutes.  DD was just in awe. She absolutely loved it!  I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for them to get to see it...how often do you really get the chance?!  Of course, everyone but me got to sleep in today though!  Did anyone else catch a glimpse of it?

  • I didn't get to see any of it. :o(  but I think it's AWESOME you got your kids up for it!  That is so cool of you what a great experience for them!

  • Overcast and rainy here....I was sooooo bummed!
  • I didn't see it, but I remember my parents waking my brother and I up for them when we were little.  IMO it's something every child should see at some point.  It really is pretty amazing.

  • DH and I went out for awhile. It's very magical! Some of the meteors even had tails.

The peak was the night before, so we missed that!  But there were still a lot last night.  I think you should be able to see *some* the rest of the week I'm just not sure how many.  Good luck!

  • We were out at 11 pm and saw a few.  Since I didn't wake up with insomnia last night, I didn't take the chance of getting up to watch the meteors & not going back to sleep!  Bust last year we saw some amazing ones.  I think there are supposed to be quite a few other meteor showers still to come this year.
