When is the best time to buy maternity clothes? Im 13 weeks and my pants & shirts still fit for the most part, i just have to use the rubber band trick for the pants. I dont want to spend the $$ if I don't need them just yet.
I started buying maternity around 15 weeks, but I still am not exclusively in maternity clothes.

Whenever your clothes become too uncomfortable Seriously though, go in and check out certain stores for sale items and you can start building with a few pieces here and there. I live in my long and lean tank tops from Target. Some people get away with wearing regular clothes for a lot longer than others so there's no exact science:-) GL
My advice is to buy them sooner rather than later. I waited too long and after I got my pants it was like heaven. I had the Be Band that I used for about 3-4 weeks and it worked great, but it was annoying and not as comfortable as maternity pants. I am still able to wear quite a few of my tops, I just needed pants.

I would recommend looking for clearance thing. If you happen to be in a store that carries maternity, and you find a good deal on something, buy it. Then you slowing start accumlitating maternity items and don't have to buy a bunch at once! I tried to do this, and I did get some stuff, but recently I have been going more into maternity and have dropped way too much money and I still need quite a few pieces!
I personally, just hate buying clothes I am only going to wear for half a year and that's it!

I got a few things I liked that were basic and on sale around 12 - 13 weeks. I went back around 18-20 weeks and got the majority of my stuff. I'm gonna go in a few weeks and pic up some sweaters and stuff for the fall.
I'd wait. I didn't pop until 20 or 21 weeks. I'm not sure I'll be able to use some of the clothes later that I'm using now. If you're worried about not being prepared, maybe just get a couple of staples (jean, tshirt, work pant, work top).
I'm 19 weeks and am still wearing my pre-preg clothes. I'm a plus-sized girl so most of my jeans and pants have a little more stretch and give to them (thank you, Lane Bryant!). They're starting to get snug but they're still hanging in there. I'll probably have to take the plunge in another couple of weeks.
My opinion is that as long as you're still comfortable in your clothes, even with rubber bands, keep wearing them.
I gave in to maternity pants completely at 19-20 weeks. If I was between sizes, I went with the higher size, hoping I'll be able to wear them until the end. I'm still hanging on to some pre-preg tops and dresses, but that won't be much longer.

I recommend starting with the BellaBand (or a knock off) and go from there. It will help you stay in your prepg pants longer and your shirts will probably last past the pants anyway. It's whatever you feel comfortable with. I bought some maternity pants at 11wks for work and they were very comfortable. I've been in fully maternity since about 18 or 19 weeks, but many girls make it much longer than that.

I had difficulty fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes at around 13 weeks and never had much luck with the Bella band unfortunately. I've been picking up maternity clothing here and there whenever there was money in the budget for it. I just recently bought a large supply of fall clothes that I found onsale since I know I'm going to need them. We plan on having two more children after this one so I don't mind spending money on maternity clothing - I'm sure I'll use it again the future.
If you have the time to shop, you can find a lot of things on sale and on clearance. I would recommend getting at least some basics. With my first pg, I could wear most of the things the entire time, except of course for seasonal items. But dresses are great because they are comfortable, they allow for growth, and you can add a sweater as the weather starts to change.

I just got my first pair of maternity pants. I was using a band up until now. I found super cheap maternity pants on ebay---they are new gap dress pants. I paid $18 for 2 including shipping, seller was BHexpress.
I didn't want to have to buy everything at once, so I started picking up a piece here and there before I really needed them. If you wait until you really can't wear your old pants anymore, suddenly you'll need to buy 4-5 pairs at once. I figured it was more budget-friendly to buy things gradually. By the time I couldn't wear my pre-pg anymore, I had enough to wear in maternity clothing.
I know some people are hesitant to buy maternity clothes, but they are so much more comfortable. I tried to stretch my pants as long as I could, but maternity ones are so much better than the rubber band. You might also want to check ebay for maternity clothes. I have a 34" inseam and got long maternity jeans on ebay for $5.99 and they are in great shape.
I'm using the bella band for my jeans, works really good. I have a few tops that are flowy which is much more comfy then wearing tight pre pregnancy tops. No maternity clothing yet.
I started buying a few things around 13 wks, I'm still not exclusively in maternity clothes yet. A lot of my shirts are still fine, it's the pants that I was having issues with.
If you buy a Bella Band you can get by wearing your regular pants for a couple extra weeks. It allows you to wear your pants unbuttoned and partially unzipped.
I am 22 weeks and am just now considering going shopping for maternity pants. I have gotten by so far wearing dresses, skirts, and pants that were always a little loose on me with a bella band.
For my final 3.5 months or so it will start to be fall/winter so I will probably just pick up two or three pairs of dress pants for work and a few sweaters. I like the gap maternity clothes.

I'm using the BeBand right now for jeans, and to help 'lengthen' shirts. I'd like to hold out as long as possible, since the seasons will be changing soon. I don't want to buy summer maternity stuff, since the majority of my growth will happen in Fall and Winter... same with you! Although, I don't know what the seasons are like that far south! Maybe you only have Summer and Fall and not much need for Winter clothes!

I am now in all maternity bottoms. It's just so much more comfortable. I could probably squeeze myself into some of my pants with a bella band but it's just not convienient.
I will only be buying maternity tops from now on. I bought a few regular tops that I thought would go a long way since they were loose. Well, I think I have a few more weeks in them and that's it! So, from now on it's maternity all the way for me.

When you can no longer comfortably wear your pre-pregnancy clothes.
Some need maternity clothes at 10 weeks, others are able to rock the rubber band or bella band until 30 weeks. Totally depends.
