Finally, both kiddos are asleep...at least for now. Thanks for all the congratulations! Here is a picture (if I do this right) of Grace Ann Nunnery. She was born on August 1 at 5:53 am 7lbs, 11 oz and 20 inches.
My water broke at 11:45 pm Friday, July 31st. I called the hospital and DH called his parents to come over and watch Grant. When they arrived we went to the hospital and checked in, it was around 1 am. We had to go to a triage room at first because it was so busy. I was starting to have contractions be they were not painful yet. I was 4 cm dialated. We hung out there for awhile before being transferred to a regular L&D room. I can't really remember any other times but not long after we were moved I started having painful contrations but they weren't too bad yet but they were coming about 5 minutes apart. DH got a little sleep (maybe an hour) until they got painful enough that I needed his help. We called for a epidural and when the nurses came to get things ready since the anathesiologist was was busy I had them check me because my first labor was fairly quick. I was 8 cm and things were progressing too quickly for me to get the epidural. The nurses had the on-call dr for my office called and they called the dr that was on-call for L&D that night since I was ready to push. The L&D on-call dr. barely made it in time to catch Grace!
