2nd Trimester

I don't know what to do

I quit my job last week (Tuesday) because I couldn't deal with the stress and being treated the way that I was.

Now, I'm really regretting it. I'm having a hard time finding a job that will hire me. I am kinda showing, but its more along the lines of Is she fat, or pregnant?

I just don't know what to do. We can't survive on DH's salary alone. We'll lose the apartment, we won't be able to afford baby items/anything really.

I think I only thought I was stressed at the time (I seriously thought I was having a mental breakdown). And, I'm finding it hard to be happy that I'm pregnant now, because I feel so stupid.

Sorry...I just had to get it out.

  • How did the interview go last week?  A car dealership, I think, right?

  • GL finding a job.  I'm in the camp that I never quit a job until I have another.  In this economy it's not the smartest move.  My DH was just downsized, and while we weren't expecting it nor did we want it.  It just sucks that good people are being downsized when there are people who just up and quit jobs because they can't hack it.  Work sucks, but you just have to suck it up and go.

  • Eh...the lady said she would probably call me back on monday, and when she didn't, I called her and she gave me the run around, and then said that the dept. manager wouldn't be in till wednesday.

So, I called today, and they said that they would be calling people later today.

    I don't think I got it.

  • Oh boy...I'm so sorry...I have definitely almost let my pg hormones get the best of me several times, it can be very hard to keep yourself in check!

I don't know what field you're in, but I would start thinking along the lines of very baby/child-friendly places to apply: day-cares, maternity stores, toy stores, after-school programs...

  • First of all, don't panic! You will be fine, you did a good thing by leaving a stressful environment.

i know how it is im already stressing about whether or not to keep working when the baby comes, cause we cant really afford daycare and can't afford for me not to work!!

You certainly dont need that while you are pregnant. Just keep at it, go knocking on doors, send a hundred resumes if you have too. I would also suggest going to  an employment or some sort of temp agency, to help you get by until you find something more permenant.

Hope it works out for you!

  • Sorry you are so stressed out. Just try to keep faith. I always believe that things eventually work themselves out somehow, if you just have faith.

  • I know it would only be temporary, but what about finding a seasonal position? I know there are Halloween stores around here that are starting to open (scary thought!) and a lot of retail places will be starting to hire their seasonal help in the next month or so.

    Just a thought!

  • I remember reading some posts about your old job.  You've done the right thing by leaving it.  I know it's not because you "couldn't hack it" or didn't just "suck it up"... you were treated poorly, and had the right and reason to leave that place.  Something will come along, and it will all work out alright in the end.  Good luck!

  • hey aa credit union is hiring.  i used to work there.  aa.com under careers

i saw quite a few jobs in the area for hotjobs.yahoo.com and also westathome.com for some work at home jobs...i lost my job recently and i have been searching. hopefully we'll have some luck

  • neiman marcus is hiring for their call center but its in las calinas and also they have work at home positions.  sprint.com also and att has local retail stores that are hiring in our area
  • I'm sorry.  Good luck... I hope you are able to find something.

Personally... I am majorly stressed out at work and would leave this place in a heartbeat if I could.  But I know that I could never leave a job without having something already set up to go to.

    Best of luck!
