Hello ladies
I've been lurking here for awhile and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Melissa and my partner is Jenn. We've been TTC for about a year now with donor sperm. We tried 5 cycles with clomid and IUI's through my ob/gyn and recently decided to switch to an RE. We are planning to do our first IUI with the RE in the next couple of weeks. We plan to do 2 more clomid cycles with a trigger shot before moving on to injectables.
I've prided myself on being able to stay level-headed about this TTC process but have had a couple pretty big blows this week and am feeling a little fragile about this whole process. First my insurance company decided to deny IF coverage due to the fact that I am not married even thought it doesn't mention that as a qualifier in the summary plan description. So now we are totally out of pocket on the costs which isn't so bad since we've been paying out of pocket. I was just looking forward to a little break. Second, my best friend of 15 years just told me that she's pregnant with her 4th child. Her husband is a registered sex offender and neither one of them are working or can support even the 3 that she has. This after she told me that she got her tubes tied and wasn't going to have anymore children. Turns out she didn't get it done and lied to me about it. I never thought I'd be the jealous type but I am and it makes me sad. The way infertility messes with your emotions is cruel.
Well sorry this turned out to be so long. Thanks for listening and good luck to all of those currently cycling.
Re: Introduction
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
Hi there, and welcome. I hope your IUI is successful!
And ugh to your best friend.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Hi Welcome. I will be doing my first IUI in the next few weeks also. Maybe be can be IUI buddies.
welcome and good luck!
it sounds like the insurance company is discriminating and you should look into your legal rights. i mean would they deny you any coverage of an adopted child because you "weren't married"?!?! that's complete bs
Tara & Dave - TTC since September 2006
PCOS - dx 1999 (amenorrhea) | freakishly long fallopian tubes
Hypoglycemic | thyroid issues | severely anemic
Multiple Clomid cycles of 50, 100, 150 - absolutely no response
Follistim 50/100 | Follistim 75/125 | Follistim 100/150 IUI - all BFNs
Converted IVF - BFP - m/c | FET - BFN | IVF #2 = BFN
IVF #3
Hello and welcome!
I am sorry you are having such a hard time... and BOOO to your insurance company for putting that disclaimer in. That is wrong on SO many level, imo.
Good luck you to you and I hope that your nest IUI is "the one".
Hello! Welcome, I hope your stay is short.
Going to the RE is the right choice, they usually monitor so much closer. GL!!!
