Babies on the Brain

Speaking of babies growing up too fast

Gavin doesn't like to be cradled like a baby unless he's REALLY tired. He is not a cuddler.  And somedays he's only happy if you let him "stand" in your lap or on the floor (he has some wicked strong legs).  *sigh* He's impatient like his momma...I keep telling he has lots of time to learn that big kid stuff.

  • OMG Christopher LOVES to stand up too.  He has been doing this for a few weeks now.  He is happiest when he is standing...he gets so proud of himself.  Lol.

    Has Gavin rolled over yet?

NO not yet!! He's trying to do it the hard way - he gets on his side and all contorted like to look behind him when your walking around. And he grabs his feet and swings to the side but can't make it all the way to his stomach.

He hates tummy time, but he could flip over on his back if he bothered to try.  He kicks like a fiend though - it's hysterical to watch! He scoots all over the place too.  Crazy kid!

  • You just described Nathan except that he only likes to be held when he's not tired.  He HATES being cradled when he's tired but he won't fall asleep if you just lay him down either.  It's a lose-lose situation and makes bed time a pain in the butt.

Lol.  Christopher does the same thing when he is on his back.  He rolls to his side with his head totally backwards...it doesn't look comfortable at all.  My kid is a contortionist I swear!

He has rolled from belly to back twice though.  The first time seemed kind of like a fluke but then he did it again a couple days later for DH.  He just keeps getting his arm in the way.

  • Addy does the same thing :( She just wants to stand, and if I try to cradle her for anything other than nursing, she fusses. She is too little to be acting like this!
  • I am lucky I got a cuddler.  I hope she stays that way forever.  (Hey, a girl can dream, right?)

I'm hoping any future babies are cuddlers too.  Here's hoping yours start to enjoy it more- my DD got even more cuddly around 6 months.
