I was just wondering what others are doing for exercise. I started aquafit this week and I'll admit I was a bit nervous about all the bouncing but I know the baby is fine
So what are you doing? walking, running, swimming, yoga etc.
I walk, or I should say the dog walks me. I have a crazy dog at home and if she doesn't get out of the house at least 5 nights out of the week I don't want to come home for fear of what happened to the back yard.
I walk my yellow lab 30 minutes every morning. Since its been so hot out, I walk her around 6:30am now and then I leave for work around 7:15, so she is in her crate until about 1:00 when my SIL stops by for lunch. Then at night DH and I take her to the park and run around with her (well he runs, I walk and follow them!)
Since last week I've been soooo short of breath all the time! I can hardly walk up the stairs at work without gasping. Actually, I just sit at my desk and gasp! And, although I'm not in great shape, this didn't happen before last week. So, exercise is currently out of the question. However, I would like to take an aqua-exercise class like I have in the past. It was a lot of fun. I may start that.
I walk the dog in the morning and depending on the weather and how much my director wants to blather at me during my lunch hour, I walk for 20-40 minutes at lunch (which usually involves finding food eventually).
I'm getting back into walking. I used to walk 6-7 miles/day before I was pregnant, but the 1st trimester sucked every ounce of life from me and I would end up in bed every night before the evening news.
I've managed to get up to 3-4 miles at a time some days, but I definitely feel more winded after -- which tells me I need to keep it up (within reason) so I don't fall totally out of shape.
I run about 4 times a week, lift weights 2 - 3 times a week and take a prenatal pilates class once a week. My doc said all were fine for me but talk to your doc if you're concerned.
I liked it a lot, I took it easy and didn't "bounce" too much and avoided the AB workout and just swam a few laps during that time.
When I was pregnant with my DD I was practically paralyzed by fear (M/C prior pregnancy) so I rarely left the couch unless I had too and I gained 55lbs. I'm trying harder to be more healthy this time, making better food choices and getting active. My doctor said swimming/aqua fit are great for expecting moms because the water reduces the strain on your joints.
I take my dog for at least one 15-20 minute walk every day. Then I also do some bicep and tricep exercises with a 5 lb. dumbbell. Then I do leg lifts, butt crunches, and calf raises. Just trying to stay toned, not doing anything excessive.
Lately cleaning the house and doing stuff outside such as washing the car are really great exercise for me too
I WAS walking the dog every night, but he just recovered from a serious illness and now he's having problems with his leg. So we haven't been walking in almost a month.
I've been doing a 10 minute solution: prenatal pilates and I absolutely love it! Just started like a week ago and I'm feeling great and more fit already!
I go to yoga once a week. I will be switching to prenatal yoga in 2 weeks. I do yoga at home about 2x a week and go for walks when I can stand it. (I live in Phoenix and the cement radiates heat long after the sun goes down.)
Oh and swimming, but I don't really count it as excercise since I mostly float and sit on the steps.

I walk home from work 2-3 times a week; it takes me 1 1/2 to 2 hour depending on which way I go home. I also do an hour on the elipical and weights 2 times a week.
I am walking pretty much everyday, going to Prenatal Yoga once a week, and doing my Prenatal Pilates workout when I get around to it....sometimes once a week, sometimes 3 times.

I hear swimming is good for you too!

Swim class on Saturdays, elliptical 30 minutes, 3x a week.
(except this week - this nasty cold has me skipping the gym)
