Maternity Clothes Shopping...

So I want to buy my first Maternity Clothes and I was wondering if any of you have found more luck at any one of the following stores?

Gap Mat., Old Navy, Motherhood/a Pea in the Pod ?

or just regular clothes in maternity plausible styles...

Let me know your experiences...TIA!?

Re: Maternity Clothes Shopping...

  • I got great stuff at Gap Maternity and Motherhood (a Pea in the Pod is way to expensive, but their back of the store stuff is fine).
  • Loading the player...
  • Motherhood Maternity and Kohls worked best for me. (Kohls has a tiny section for Mat clothes, but there are some really great things hidden in there!)

  • Old Navy was a lifesaver for my first two:)
  • I have had great luck at Old Navy and Motherhood!
  • Just went shopping this past weekend!  I had the best luck at Pea in the Pod.  I liked the way their stuff fit me best.  I also bought a few things at a maternity boutique here that was having a big sale.  I hated ON stuff!  I liked Gap for the most part too.  We have a Motherhood here, but their pants run bigger than Pea in a Pod's so I am probably going to go shirt shopping there come Sept when I outgrow regular clothes.  Motherhood's prices are better. I work in a business casual office, so I had to buy stuff for work. So jealous of the people who work from home or don't work!

  • Gap is my favorite.  Most of my maternity wardrobe is from there (casual).  When I was pregnant the first time, Loft had a great maternity selection and I got a lot of great work clothes from there.  Unfortunately, this time around, they brought back their maternity line with designers, and prices to go along with them.

The one thing I do like from Motherhood are the tshirts with the ruched sides.  I have them in short sleeve and long sleeve, and I believe they just started making them in a 3/4 length.  They're nice for every day casual or for layering.  Otherwise, I hate Motherhood.  Pea in the Pod is nice, but now that I'm a SAHM, I'm not going to spend that kind of money on maternity clothes.

  • So far bought a few things at Target and Kohl's. Although Kohl's has a small maternity selection, I found that the regular women's section also had some great tops that seem to fit well and kind of do the same thing some of the maternity shirts do, at least for the size I am now it seems to work out. This might sound lame, but I found on Craigs List a bunch of women selling maternity clothes, I haven't done that yet but I will if I can find something in the right season and size.
  • I just got the most amazing capris at Old Navy. They were only like 15 bucks and I feel like I am wearing regular jeans.

    All ALers welcome!
  • So far I have bought several things just a size or two up, and then actual maternity from Gap and Nordstrom (online.)

  • I have had decent luck with maternity clothes.  Old Navy is okay, but only on sale because quality is not great obviously. I found a few summer tanks there.  Gap tops are nice, jeans are okay, but they stretch out about 10 minute after I put them on so I'm constantly washing them to get them back in shape.  But I have to order online so that sort of deters me from buying at Gap. I found some cute Motherhood tops and a cute sundress and I actually really was impressed with their jeans, that I only spent $20 on!  One thing that I haven't seen mentioned here is Macy's maternity section. They have Motherhood and Pea in the Pod stuff and their return policy is better than the stores.  So I like to go there too. I love Pea in the Pod but it's pricey.  No luck at the other dept stores and the only thing I ever found at Kohls was some trousers for work- Motherhood secret fit belly.

  • So far I am finding Gap Maternity to be the best by far.  IMO the quality of stuff at Motherhood, Kohl's, and JC Penney is terrible.  Nothing from those places seems to hold up after a couple of washings.
  • I hit the motherhood sale. All their summer clothes was on sale. Buy the capris, they're super comfy.

  • Old Navy & Motherhood/Pea in the Pod are the only actual maternity purchases I have made so far. Target had barely anything, and it was all super-ugly.
  • The only things I've purchased so far are from Motherhood and Old Navy. I hate the stuff I bought from Motherhood. Nothing has held up well at all, and I think the clothes are overpriced considering the poor quality. I like the Old Navy stuff so far.
  • I got some XL flowy shirts at Kohls on sale in the regular section to hold me over for a few weeks. Their maternity section is horrible.  I have had good luck with consignment stores and garage sales for cheap prices and even found some nice business casual items ! Everyone at work who has had kids keep raving about Old Navys maternity. Do a search online for a store that carries maternity since not all stores have a section
