Hi! How is your Tuesday going? After thinking more about the safeness of giving out private information, I am wondering if I even want to do the onesie exchange... That being said, there certainly can still be one for our month. I would ask though, if someone else could organize it even if I do end up participating. It is hard enough to sometimes get the check in up everyday. If the person in charge of it wants me to put reminders in the check in I of course will certainly do that! I hope you all understand...
Good luck with appoinments today! Were there any new "team" additions that I missed yesteday?
To people who are looking to join us, there is nothing official that needs to be done, just go to the calendar site add whatever info you like and check in with us when you like!

QOTD: Who wants to make their own baby food? Are you going to register for a food processor?
Me: We made all of DS' food and saved a TON of money! I have a really good friend that has a daughter two weeks younger than DS and we would exchange food cubes. She would make all the fruit and I would make all the veggies then we would split the batches in half and exchange. It was a great system. We registered for a food processor and received one. I would also highly recommend Annabel Karmel's recipe books. They are great recipes for babies and kids.
Re: First in '10 Tuesday Check In
I am so glad today is almost over...I am leaving for vacation on Friday and I have already caught up on all my work, so things here are super slow, and the day is dragging on, but only 1.5 hours left and then I am half way through the week! Yay!
QOTD: I am not planning to make my own food. Personally I don't think I'll have the time for that, but I think it is a great idea. My SIL keeps talking about the Williams Sonoma Baby Food thing, and I have a feeling whether I want it or not, she plans to buy it for me...and if she does, I might try to make my own food, but I am hoping I don't have to!
I'm actually quite happy it's Tuesday. I woke up this morning thinking that it's Monday.
QOTD: Who wants to make their own baby food? Are you going to register for a food processor?
I don't really have plans on making my own baby food ... in fact I just gave my food processor to my mother. My mother in law is all about the make your own baby food and cloth diaper your child so I can probably count on her to hook us up.
Doing great... leaving RIGHT NOW for my hair appointment (DH is treating me, because I feel so damn unpretty)
Having some crib hesitancy.... looking forward to Thurs. and the big u/s
QOTD: yes, we will make our own. We already have 2 food processors (a full Cuise and a mini). Already have a baby cookbook (about developing a good palate for LB), and will be getting Super Baby Foods. Not getting a Beaba... waste of money and impossible to clean properly.
Bye ladies! Will post pics when I get back!
QOTD: Who wants to make their own baby food? Are you going to register for a food processor?
I hope to make our baby food. We have a food processor and a great blender. We won't need to register for those. We are kitchen freaks.
HI ladies! We get to find out the "team" tomorrow! Just wanted to say hi and get in on the check-ins.
Happy Tuesday!
I feel like death. This flu is killing me!
As for baby food, I haven't even thought that far. Good idea making your own. Very healthy! Thanks for the idea!
QOTD: haha yeah, right. I barely have enough time to feed myself and make my own food. there is no way i could possibly do it. I just don't have the time.
If i could try it and know that it wasn't time consuming I would defintely do it.
That is a good point about the onsie exchange, but I don't see giving one person (i guess that is how it works) your address as a big deal. No different that buying something off ebay or etsy. I am have missed something though.
I do plan on making some baby foods, maybe not all, but most. I did w DD and worked out great once I had a system.
This week is just dragging by. Work stinks and our big u/s is on Thursday so of course I can't focus on anything else. I'm so ready for the weekend already. I just want to do some shopping for the little one!
QOTD: I'd like to. Whether or not I'll do it exclusively, I'm not yet certain but I'd really like to get the Beaba Babycook from Williams-Sonoma. It seems really easy to use and would be so much healthier for the baby since I can by all organic fruits and veggies to use.
Tuesday is going pretty well, just got done eating and I've been doing pretty well with my fluids which is good.
QOTD: I DO want to make my own baby food and I hadn't thought about registering for a food processor but maybe I will now! That's a great idea.
I wonder if my friend and I could do a food cube exchange...hmmm
I keep missing check ins lately. DD does NOT like me on the computer when she is awake.
QOTD: I plan on making the baby's food, definitely. I did it for DD, and I thought it was fun and saved a ton of money. I just used my regular Cuisinart food processor for most things. I used a blender for peas and green beans. www.wholesomebabyfood.com is a great site for recipes and tips, including good lists about what foods are ok for which ages.
Add me to team BLUE! Our u/s was yesterday and he is so cute in there, sucking his thumb and all of that fun stuff.
Qotd: I think I'll try to make my own baby food. I don't see any reason not to and it saves money. I think there will always be those "lazy days" when I won't want to make the food and I'll open up a jar/container of store baby food but I'll at least try to make it homemade.
Piper Jo: October 14'
We will be making our own baby food.
A good tip I learned from my grandmother was to freeze the baby food in ice cube trays. Once frozen simply place it in a freezer bag. It's a great serving size for your little one!
Tuesdy is going great! Can't wait for the end of this week to see the finished product of our recent bathroom renovation!!!!
QOTD: I'm definitely planning on making my own baby food. We already have a food processor, so I'm one step closer... no excuses! I've talked to several aunts and new moms, and I hear that making the food "cubes" is really easy. And having someone to exchange food with (like yours with the veggies and fruits) sounds like a wonderful idea!
LOL, well... at least the babe will be picky in a way that YOU like.
Here's hoping she likes spicy foods, curry, and hummus down the road.
its a girl for us
:)?
?
and we will be planning on making our own food, hopefully for as long as possible :P?
This week i seem to have little to no paticance with people and they are really gettign under my skin
If I can find the time i would love to make baby food. Even better to use the veggies I have grown.
QOTD: Who wants to make their own baby food? Are you going to register for a food processor?
Yes, I look forward to making baby food! I will have to register for a food processor; we don't have one.
I woke up this morning feeling as the worst I've felt so far, m/s wise. I decided to take half of my anti-nausea pill so I wouldn't sleep all day, and I'm so tired, I just want to go home and sleep. On the plus side, I don't feel nauseaus!
Making the food seems like it would take a lot of time. We run around so much now, I don't know if we'll be able to do it. That will definitely be something I'll have to look into.
Stephanie, you are already doing a ton by posting out check ins! Don't worry about running the exchange too
QOTD: DH is a professional chef, so I think he will want to make a lot of the food. We already have a food processor.
Hello - Team Green Here
QOTD: I will most likely do both. I have a food processor and will try as time allows, but will so many organic options available in the stores, I'm sure I will not be exclusively making my own. Thanks for the book/site tips!
Now that my day is over and we're home, it's much better. I have an OB appointment tomorrow. I'll be getting blood drawn for the quad screen, and I scheduled our big u/s for Sept 3.
QOTD: I didn't make my own food with DS and DD, and wish I had. It's amazing how much baby food costs, when it's nothing more than pureed "grown-up" food. So, with 3 babies under 3 running around, I'm going to attempt to make my own this time around.
Today is dragging at work for me! I think I am deeply anticipating my BIG U/S on thursday!
Anyway--I think I will try to make my own food when/if I have time! But sounds so much healthier and cheaper!
I am definitely going to make our own food but will hold off on registering for one. I'm not sure where our next assignment will be and we will be moving about 2 months after DS is born so I'm just going to pick one up when we move. Happy Tuesday to everyone...wish it was Friday!
