I registered for it. I only have a shower so it seems easier to have LO in than a lie down and I don't trust myself enough to wash LO when I wash myself (I'm very clumsy). The only thing Baby Bargains said was moms get a false sense of security and leave their LO to answer phones and stuff, causing a potential safety issue.

I think its pointless. Use a sink! They cant even sit up until about 5 months, and you never know how big the baby is going to be. I d hold off for now. IMO

My sister keeps talking about how we should get one of these type of baths for LO. A friend of hers has one and loves it. I would think it might be heavy lifting it to the sink or tub afterwards to dump the water out, but I guess you don't put that much water in it..
I just registered for a regular baby bath tub that fits in the sink and you can drain it while it's in there so you don't have to lift it filled with water or worry about spilling water all over the place.
I guess I should have added that the idea is that the baby is submerged in water instead of half under and cold. Also, I think that due to the shape, even a newborn will fit upright with supervision. Apparently this is an old idea in Europe and just hasn't made it over here much yet.
I saw them on the Today Show (or something like it) and I thought they were pretty cool. Your kid can fit in there until they get pretty big. And babies are used to (and often prefer) to be cramped, so that wouldn't seem like an issue to me. We are going with a tub thing that will fit in our sink so I can stand and wash the LO when he or she arrives. But you do what you want.

There is NO way a newborn would sit upright in that thing first of all. They would just lump over. They are basically little blobs at first Secondly, if your worried about the baby being chilly you put a warm wash cloth over their belly while bathing. JMO

our sinks are a) too small for our cats much less Bunny and b) porcelain from the 50s and therefore HARD.
I registered for it. I see what you're saying about the bucket, but I think this shape and material is better for babies.
That said- I can see myself just sitting in our tub and holding Bunny while we bathe. And then passing Bunny off the Husband and rinsing myself in the shower if necessary.

I've seen them online and on tv... IMO, they look hard to use - how are you going to get around LO to wash them if they are snug in the bucket?
This is what we have and I LOVE it... https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2403667 it works really well for a tiny infant (there is a sling that attaches) and has grown very well with us as DD gets bigger. There' still plenty of room in it for her so I imagine she'll be able to use it for quite awhile still.

Pretty sure a rubbermaid bucket would do the same thing for about $5.
I understand the concept, just not the price.

That one looks awesome for when baby is smaller... but be prepared to purchase something else once LO gets a bit bigger.
I don't like the idea of having to dry this one. Also - I can understand the concept of the original bathtub.. but don't like it. Seems so cramped.
I think they're cute and I can totally buy into the fact that a baby would be comfortable in one.
However, I showed it to DH who immediately said "You want to bathe our baby in a trash can?" So..yeah.
I think I want to try a tummy tub- same concept. You have to hold the baby up while he/she is little- and then when they can sit up you don't have to.
I was looking at them at work, and my boss walked by and thought it was a picture of a baby in a blender!!
