I looked the other day and my Mom was feeding her hard boiled eggs, I make them to give her the yolk, apparently Mom had been giving her both yolk and white for a few weeks. No issues, so if no issues are there any other reason why she can't have them again?
Granted foods with risk like honey I understand. But if it is a higher allergy risk but do fine at a younger age than suggested is there concern?
Re: Is it a huge deal if they have a "no" food before suggested?
I've been thinking about giving her eggs now too at 10 months...
I think now that she's had it several times I would just keep giving it to her going forward.
I think DD would love scrambled eggs and I'd like to be able to give them to her out so I think I may try them this week.
I had been giving just yolks but realized he had had whole eggs many times before. Now I just give him the whole thing, no problem.
Gabe had whole eggs for months before his first allergic reaction. Just because a kid eats a food once and is fine, doesn't mean they won't end up allergic to it.
I would hold off, but only because I'm paranoid about allergies. I'm sure she would be fine, but dio you want to take the chance?
Well since you need to be exposed more than once to something to form an allergic reaction I agree. I also know that anyone can have an allergic reaction to anything at any time, 2nd exposure or 99th exposure.
our pedi said we could give DD the whole egg starting as early as 7 months, as long as it was really well cooked. his take was that she's either allergic or not, giving the white won't cause the allergy. i don't know the science behind any of it but i totally trust my doctor. so i'd say you're fine, in my expert non-doctor opinion
