I'm just curious as to what most people do. Our church encourages
ecological breastfeeding for 2 years or longer if you can/want to
unless the child weans themselves. I like this idea but when I was
talking to my friends about it they looked at me like I was disgusting,
LOL. I know that it is much longer in other countries ect, but I was
just wondering what this community does. If you fed for longer around
or above 2 years, what was your experience and would you do it with
another child?[Poll]
Re: How long did you BF?
The only problem I see with ecological breastfeeding (from the little I know) is that they don't recommend pacifiers!
I plan to bfed for 12 months and then go from there. I hope to wean by 24 months, but I don't think it's weird to go longer.
People give me weird looks when they find out I'm not stopping now (because he's getting teeth).

DD is 3 years and nursing once a day. I planned to follow CLW until her latch got so bad that I couldn't stand it anymore. I can't get her to correct it, and I end up with teeth marks in my nipples that last for hours after she's done nursing. I've been slowly weaning over the last 6 months (down from 3x a day to 1x a day).
I plan to do the same with any future children. If it wasn't for the poor latch, DD would probably still be nursing 3x a day, and that would be fine with me.

I ep, and I plan to give dd breastmilk for at least one year old, adjusted. I'm hoping that I can stop pumping between 8 and 10 months. I have a sizable freezer stash because she was eating so little in the beginning.
