ok, I have NOT heard of this until now...and I WILL be demanding that DH take me to Rita's tonight to get one. Thank you for this important information
I had it last week. I was skeptical to try it at first because I thought it would be too syrupy sweet, but it was really good, refreshing and mixed with vanilla custard - satisfied my hot spell!
Plus i love the little packs of swedish fish they give out.
God Bless our sweet baby James.

oooh, bonus swedish fishies? that makes it even more worth the trip. hehe. i told DH if it's still nice tonight (anyone else getting 80ish temps today?) we'll walk there since it's not too far away.
they so00000 got to franchise out more to everyone!
truth: I was one of Rita's original first customers 25 years ago when the mother store opened in our town. Real big fat chunks of fruit in icy dreaminess - my dad treated all the kids in my neighborhood to a few quarts of lemon and strawberry. We all sat on the lawn and ate it. I was the most popular kid - for one night at least.

I don't know what Rita's is. I don't even know what waterice is. But, this sounds like something that might be worth a plane ticket to wherever you are. When are they opening one of these places on the West Coast?
I have never heard of Rita's... but sounds sooo good. Have one for me!
Must be a Northern chain
I looked on their website... there is one in Mobile, AL... still a bit of a drive for you... but it's closer to you than to me... (what, around an hour or so?) I'd road trip it!
Re: has anyone tried the new Swedish Fish waterice at Ritas? sounds yummy!

mannnnnnnnnnnn... we don't have a Rita's anywhere near here (I'd have to drive close to 100 miles either north or south to find one)...
