It is chicken pox. Although she said she has only ever seen one other case because in the "age of vaccinations.....blah blah blah" She kind of made me feel like an @ss. But, oh well.
Anyhoo.
And we didn't go to the store afterwards ![]()
DId Janimal post about her DH yet?
Re: Doctor confirmed it
Not asking in a combative style, but do you kinda wish you had vaccinated your kiddo for chicken pox? What was your reasoning against it?
ETA: what's up with janimal's DH?
Your kids aren't that old, so I wouldn't worry too much about lack of vaccinations. We probably don't do chickenpox at 1 year anyways - probably closer to school age.
And if they caught it - they obviously caught it from someone else!
She thinks her DH has it.
I'm glad I didn't vax against it. The timing sucks, but so far this has been really manageable. The kids don't even know anything is wrong and they both got it at the same time.
I would always rather they gain immunity to things naturally. I stand by my decision!
DH's appt is in 15 minutes.
I really hope it's not CPox.
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
This is how DH and I feel about chickenpox....we would rather DD gain her own immunity to it but we haven't completely decided whether to vaccinate her or not. She would get the vaccination at 18 months if we do decide on it.
I agree with Buckets of moonbeams but I was talking to my ped and just cause they get the chicken pox vac. doesn't mean they won't get them anyways they would be just less severe he said.
Not to start a debate...just throwing it out there.
Just because you lived through chicken pox means nothing. I work in medicine and spoke with a colleague of mine (infectious disease ped specialist) and he HAS seen babies/kids die from chicken pox.
The vaccine is created for a reason. To prevent death and unnecessary illness. I never had the chicken pox and was vaccinated 3 years ago. I know people who have had it and were miserable. I HATE seeing my son sick, so I will be vaccinating him.
People who do not get their children vaccinated put other younger children who can't be vaccinated yet in harms way.
Done...and I won't be debating this. This is my opinion, not debatable.
I have been told so far that the chicken pox vaccine only protects for 30-40 years (can't remember exactly how long I still have time to research it more). It is much, much worse as an adult I do know that so I would rather them get it as a child if they were going to.
Um. Thanks for stating your opinion. I have never heard ANY of that before. I am really glad I know that now
