Still Pregnant! Whiny Vent

Ugg, I cannot believe I am still freakin pregnant! Let me just tell you full moons, spicy food, pineapple, evening primrose oil, walking, rocking on a ball and sex are all ineffective labor inducing methods. Yesterday was my due date and to be honest, I never imagined seeing that date come and go while still pregnant. I am very disppointed in my body right now...I thought it was a much more effective machine than it is. ::Sigh:: At least today is my last day of work.

Still 3cm dilated but now I am 70% effaced and -1 station. The induction is set for Tuesday, but I am really really hoping she comes on her own this weekend.

Tons of labor on your own dust to you!! I was feeling sorry for myself about being pg and wanting baby out of me yesterday, but you're way more in a position than I am to feel that way!! I hope Gracie comes soon!

Don't be disappointed! Your little one just wants a little extra time to cook. They've shown that term babies (and slightly overdue ones) sleep better when they go home because they're better able to stablize their blood sugars than early ones=) So try to look on that bright side! I was 40w 1d and I went shopping at the outlet mall for DD's coming home outfit, I felt a weird twinge around 6pm. DD was born around 11:30 the next day

and I wasn't even 3cm dilated at last check! So you never know - your baby could be born in the next 24 hours.

I totally feel your pain. You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that you may have to wait until Tuesday. I started all those things around 39 weeks, and I got accupuncture. I was 4 cm and 75% effaced on my due date, and DD was 12 days late (granted, it was my choice to wait and not be induced). I was doing every trick in the book right up until my water broke. Just know that while it is very frustrating, the wait is so worth it. You'll look back later and won't really be able to remember the waiting part. Good luck.

I second all the prior posters.

Also, your induction should go well if you are 3cm/70%/-1. While 3cm dilated does not necessarily mean labor is imminent, your body is in a good place to be induced as your cervix has begun readying itself for labor.

Think good thoughts and I hope all goes well with the birth.

I know your pain, but hang in there. Like the pp mentioned it'll be worth the wait and you'll soon forget the extra couple of days you are pg.

I was almost 4 cm and fully effaced two days after my EDD. DD came the next day (after ushering in the new year without her!) Your body is doing a great job of preparing itself for labor already. I think that bodes well for a super speedy labor and delivery! labor dust to you!

Good luck. Ditto what everyone is saying. I was 41 weeks and 2 days when I was induced b/c of low fluid and I was only dilated 1 cm!

Somebody on the D&R board posted that one of her friends read an eviction notice out loud to the baby. It came out a day or two later. Maybe you could give that a try. Sorry you're still pregnant. Hopefully your lo will come out soon.
