I absolutely can not stand when a parent lets their child that is old enough to walk walk around the grocery store and parking lot with no shoes on. Think of all the things the child could step on and how dirty their feet get. I also think it is very tacky when a child that is like 3 years old is in the store wearing nothing but a diaper. The winner of all though is the lady who brought her 6-7 month old baby in the grocery with nothing on not even a DIAPER. WTF?
Re: Does this bug you or am I just anal?
Ewwwe...public places without shoes/sandals is just nasty. A wart or fungal infection waiting to happen. I also agree with you on the diaper issue. I think they get to a certain age where pants are appropriate.
LOL. That must be a Kentucky thing, because I've never seen ANY of that here.
(And no, that was not meant as a personal insult.)

OK....the no shoes thing is just plain country (sorry if I offended anyone, but last week I saw this 'atleast 21 yr old' walk into the grocery store with bare feet).
I'm going to defend the diaperless baby's mommy. Come on ladies, you know you've had desperate days. I'll bet her baby pooped all over his diaper and clothes...after removing the mess and wiping him down, she realized she didn't pack any extra diapers.....so, she's in the store to buy some.
My thoughts exactly. If she indeed saw a mom with a diaperless baby, there would be a good reason for it. no one walks around with a naked baby for the heck of it.
Eww... why these people don't go barefoot or just in underwear themselves?
Never seen anyhting like that thought. I hate people in the wonter in their coats buttoned up carring thier baby to the store dressed a couple of layers less than they have. WTF? aren't U cold?
Good Friday. Joseph got sick while we were out shopping. We were eating lunch at CiCi's Pizza. He had a blowout. I cleaned him up and changed his clothes. We went to Michaels. My husband went next door to Petco. Joseph has another blowout. I am out of clothes now. I change his diaper and take him next door to get my husband. We have barely walked in the door when my shoeless, clothes-free, diapers only 15mo throws up everything he has eaten for three days on a pen full of white bunnies. His diaper is now soaked with puke.
But we are more than an hour from home, so this necessitated a trip to Walmart with naked baby to get more diapers, new clothes and Pedialyte.
It happens.

Well, i would dress the baby anyway. Plus, there is usually at least one blanket in the diaper bag or hanging out in the car. Why don't you wrap your baby in it.Not excusable. Sorry.
Wow...what happened to the bunnies?
Nope she went straight to the ATM and then walked right out of the store. Never bought a single diaper. I know this because I work there and I was watching her because our manager was about to kick her out so the kid didn't poop/pee on our floor.
Yes, I'm sure it would have been much better to wrap my son in the $hit-covered clothes I had just removed.
Wait for it, sweetie. It will happen to you. Karma's a b!tch.
Really??!! Did she actually get money? I'm thinking her card was denied and she didn't have any money to buy diapers. LOL....I'm just not giving up on her.
I have wondered that for four months. I can't bring myself to go back to that Petco. They were so nice about it. I'm sure you can't work in a pet shop without expecting some really disgusting cleaning, but that had to be unexpected. And they wouldn't let me help clean anything, which I am somehow sure had more to do with getting me the heII out of their store.
LOL at "not giving up on her!!!!"
Are you guys really surprised by the no shoes thing? There is a reason for all of those, 'No Shoes/No Shirt = No Service' signs. Enough people must have rolled in somewhere enough times for someone to take notice.
It's gross...
I like you.
wow, this is just getting weirder! i have never seen this either. maybe i am just not very observant!
I have seen many a child in only diapers at WalMart. I totally get that sh!t happens (in this case quite literally) so I get why there would be the occasional frazzled parent and nearly nude child frantically buying diapers or a new onesie.
But either DD and I are currently visiting The Explosive Bowel Movement Capitol of the Nation or some parents actually *do* take their kids to WalMart sans clothing. I'm not one to get too hung up on etiquette but seriously?! Wear clothes in public. That's right up there with flush after you poop.
Can you update your idiot blog? I could use a good laugh. Thx
When I was in high school, I worked at a grocery store and a lady came in wearing shorts that let her butt hang out and no shoes. Her baby was completely naked without a diaper. She got kicked out of the store for having a naked baby though.
not everyone works 9-5, maybe 2 in the afternoon is her morning ya know?
Are you joking?
I don't work at all and am up at 6 because that's when DD wakes up. I don't know any 2 year old that 2 in the afternoon is their morning.
??Maybe they were having a jammie day. ?Who cares!?!?
This is a really dumb thing to argue over so I agree I won't argue with you. ?But you have to remember there could be a million reasons why the kid was in pj's. ?
And I am a sahm too so I know early hours, and always take B out dressed to. Was ?just playing devil's advocate
I am bored! ??
Could be worse. I'll take a sock-foot toddler any day over this.
But then...maybe she started out a sock-foot toddler, and this is where that leads...
Ummm, I knew a family where the dad worked the night shift and the mom stayed home, so everyone in the family was on the dad's schedule so they actually got to have family time. Everyone, including the toddler.
Oh I've been there. So true.
