My nurse said that just b/c their are adhesions present doesn't always mean something bad...she said the RE will determine how much it will affect us once he looks at the actual films...

  • I'm sorry your results were still stinky!

  • The literature shows that most of the time surgical efforts to removing scarring or blockages from tubes is not successful.  Or only semi-successful.  The most effective treatment for getting pregnant is salpingectomy + IVF.

  • Both of my tubes are completely blocked, which is different than your situation. But for me the choices were laproscopic surgery to try and unblock them or IVF. With surgery, the results are not very good as PP said. And even if it works temporarily, the body's response to surgery is to build new scar tissue. So I chose IVF. Good luck to you.

  • Both of my tubes are blocked.  We were going to try the surgery to see if they could be opened but ectopic pregnancy is such a risk so we are starting IVF in January.
  • Oh no I'm sorry.  I had lots of scarring in my uterus.  My RE cleaned it all up with a hysteroscopic surgery.
