I'm doing things differently for IVF#2 this time. I've already cut waaay back on the wine in the past 2 months and really only have a couple glasses on the weekend, nothing during the week. I have 1 8oz cup of coffee 5 times a week, but I'm getting ready to cut that out. So my question is, when did you cut things out completely? When stims start? When you are on bcps?
Also, I've been on several supplements (OK'ed by my RE) in addition to PNVs lilke wheatgrass, l-arginine, DHEA (which I know I have to stop before stims), CoQ10 and Omegas. If you take supplements do you stop these when stims start so they don't interfere with the meds?
Re: IVF'ers when did you stop certain things?
For our first IVF I stopped all caffeine and alcohol THREE MONTHS prior to our cycle. Yeah, I didn't do that this time. This time I stopped when I began BCP.
I do not take an supplements so I can't speak to that.
So I am obviously the worst person here... I didn't cut anything out 100% and my RE's office didn't tell me I had to. I basically stopped drinking, but did have champagne at a wedding on Day 3 of stims, and then at some other point during stims I had some wine with dinner (less than a glass). Since ER, I haven't had any alcohol. I also cut back on coffee but I'm still having a small bit of caffeinated coffee at breakfast in the morning. The nurses told me this was all fine.
I don't take any supplements, so I can't help with that.
My first cycle I cut things out like 2months prior to cycling. This time, I cut coffee and wine when I started bcps. I did have two chocolate martinis one day like my first day of lupron.
I pretty much cut out alcohol once I started stims. Although I did have two glasses of wine at a family party. Caffeine was much harder for me since I love coffee! I cut down to half the caffeine and one cup in the morning when I started stims. I never took any supplements so I can't answer that one.
