3rd Trimester

Anyone still working out?

I'm still going to the gym twice a week to my usual classes.  Last week was difficult, but I really think that was because I went through a bit of a growth spurt.  I plan to start doing my yoga DVD at home this weekend because I've started to get achy in my back.

Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone was in the same boat!

Re: Anyone still working out?

  • Not really.  I just go for walks. Even that is hard because my feet hurt all the time.

  • I am taking water aerobics and swimming. It is great to feel light and a good workout.
  • I wish I was!!! I just want to say good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I walk (slowly) for half an hour three times a week.

I do my prenatal yoga DVD once a week.

I do light (5-8 pound weights) twice a week.

I'm definitely not knocking myself out with it though.

  • I walk almost every day and then stretch with my husband.  I was going to the gym and doing light weights but I just haven't had time.

I also do an exercise video that is baby yoga on demand, its 10 minutes and I'll do a few of them sometimes if its raining.  I think its really important to stay active and I'm doing the best I can.  I want a fast delivery and recovery!!!!

  • I walk almost everyday with my husband or mom. I've definitely been slowing down lately ... not to mention the horrible shin splints!
  • Not really, unless you count housework.  I occasionally take walks with my husband, but it's been very humid by us and our neighborhood has huge hills, which are difficult to walk up.  I should drive to the mall and go walk there, since it's flat and air conditioned.
  • I still go to the gym at least 4 days/week and I'm farther along than OP.  I don't have any problem at all, I rarely get any aches or pains.  I walk on treadmill or do elliptical and then do light weights.  Sometimes when I'm lazy and don't feel like dragging my butt to the gym I'll do my prenatal pilates dvd.

  • Not since a week before my BFP.  I thought I was dying when I was working out with my personal trainer.  Come to find out I was pregnant.

  • I take a prenatal yoga class and a prenatal aerobics class.  I really love both for different reasons.  The yoga is so relaxing and we do some great stretches.  We also work on squats and holding them while breathing, something our teacher says we should do ever day (whoops).  The aerobics class is nice because it incorporates more cardio than I do on my own.  Half the class is cardio and the other half toning so it's not too much.

  • I'm still working out 5-6 days a week at 31 weeks. It makes me feel great and then I never feel bad for lounging in the evenings and resting. I still do cardio kickboxing (with many modifications of course), eliptical machine, weights, and stationary bike. If I don't feel like doing anything, then I try to at least get outside for a walk. Stretching and squats are great too but I don't do them as much as I should. I agree with ericaelaine2........I want a fast delivery and recovery too!!!

  • I've kept up walking the dogs about a mile every evening, and I go to a pre-natal yoga class once a week and I love it!!!

I walk daily, rain or shine!

    Also do some light weights.

  • I'm still running everyday.  I'm down to 20 miles per week but still doing it.  Interestingly, running feels pretty good but walking doesn't.  Go figure.

  • I am still teaching my 2 spinning classes a week, but next week will be my last :(  I barely start pedaling now and my HR shoots up so fast! I also try to walk with DH and our dogs a couple nights a week. That will step up (I hope!) when I stop spinning. Honestly though I think the only reason I am still making it to class is bc I teach. There have been many days where I did NOT want to go! But it's always worth it :)
  • Just walking about 3 miles a day.
  • i'm still doing about 3 miles a day on the treadmill or eliptical. i figure i have the energy, so why not?
  • I've been trying to get in my regular 4-5 days of exercise--this was a bad week though, we took a couple days off to put together furniture/paint and I wasn't feeling up to the gym.  I need to get back on track next week.

  • I still go to my prenatal yoga class every week and let me tell you it is one hell of a workout!  I always leave there drenched!  PLus I do a lot of steps at work so I count that as a work out.  :)

  • I am down to just doing my yoga class once a week. I would love to walk but just walking around the fair or the mall results in horrendous pelvic pain, heat exhaustion, and stopping 6 times to pee.

More power to you strong, strong, walking women.

  • I walk 3-5 miles a day and do an hour of yoga almost every day.  I was still lifting weights 3 times/week until last week.
  • I'm still walking several miles a day, swimming for 45-60 min a couple times a week, doing light weights and squats/lunges a couple times a week, and stretching whenever I remember.  I'm definitely slowing down, but hope to keep it up as long as I can.

  • DH and I take ballroom dancing classes twice a week. We're still going, but it is starting to get harder. I'm hoping I can stick with it for another few weeks, though.

  • I'm still teaching 3 classes/week at the Y - cardio kickboxing and muscle mix, so I do *most* of the class with them still.  My goal is to make it to the end of September. If I can go longer...awesome!  If not, that's ok too.

  • I still go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I have cut back on the # of mins. and the intensity and have pretty much stopped weight lifting. I just want to make it easier when the LO is born. It's a pain to get started but I always feel better afterwards!
  • I still work out about 5 times a week. I do some sort of cardio for at least 45 minutes. ( I wear the body bug to monitor my heartrate) and I still lift 3-4 times a week.... Honestly, I swear it is why I feel pretty good and why I have some energy at 29 weeks!
  • I definitely am, but it's such a struggle on some days! Mentally, I don't want to do it, but I also know it's so good for me and baby.
