Re: Swimming during IVF 2ww

  • My nurse and RE said no due to the fact that you are at a higher risk of infection after your ER.

  • i wouldn't chance it.  only because i know how i am.  if i ended up with a bfn i'd blame swimming (i'm crazy like that).  also, my h would literally LAUGH at me wanting to swim after ET---he doesn't even want me sitting up in bed--i must lay down ALL DAY LONG!  lol  :-)

But, seriously, I'd probably ask my RE first.

  • No, I wouldn't swim during an IVF 2ww.  I LOVE to swim, and I have had to go on 2 different beach vacations over the bast 2 years and not swim because of this reason Crying  Both were right after transfer, so I didn't swim.  Maybe, if it is a good 10 days after ER, but I still wouldn't chance it.

I agree with the above poster, you are at in increased chance of infection.  The last thing I would want is to have to take antibiotic meds, etc due to the infection when I get my BFP.  GL!

  • Yeah, I think I'll just lay low...just a momentary feeling of guilt for being so glutinous today...I am assuming my bottomless pit of a stomach today is just another lovely s/e.  Maybe I'll go for a nice walk around the office cubicles so I don't feel like so much of a sloth lol...I only have a week till my Beta, so I guess 7 more days won't be too bad.

I didn't even have a ER (since I used DE) and I still wasn't allowed to swim.

  • I was told No by my RE's office.
