Which Interpretation Method...

do you use to detect O on FF?  Advanced, Research, Fertility Awareness or OPK/Monitor? I have mine currently set on Research because FF's description states "It's the cutting edge research detector and it includes all new patterns and improvements." But...FF recommends Advanced..???... It doesn't make sense to me. My O day changes with each method Huh? I guess this is just one more thing to stress about during the 2WW.

Re: Which Interpretation Method...

  • I played around with Research for a while, but I've settled on Advanced.  Research does some funky things - I remember someone on here saying Research Method told her she didn't even O in her BFP cycle.

i bounce between advanced and FAM (TCOYF style).  with a slower rise, it is harder to tell.

I would re-read the parts in TCOYF about slower rises and see what fits your chart better.

with the ewcm after the dip day, it could have been O on the dip day or the day after.

Thanks for your response! Well, FAM and Research give me the same results. FAM gives an O date based on 3 temps that are higher than 6 previous days...which does make sense to me. I guess there is no right or wrong answer...I will re-read that section in TCOYF tonight!

Advanced Detection on this month's chart just seems a little screwy because it says I O'd on a day when I had no fertile CM....MEH

  • In my current chart, if I use advanced it says I o'd on cd 16, but if I use FAM it says I o'd on cd 19.  I think the FAM is more accurate this time and that I did, in fact, o on cd 19,  so I switched it for this cycle.

checking cervical position has helped me find the O day a little bit easier too.  i hate having a slow rise.  it is confusing at times, but with the CM drying up and the CPosition coming down and closing, it is easier to tell when the fertile window is closing.

i also check CM internally (when I check position) so I get a better read on the CM too.  I don't get much on the toilet paper, but there is always some inside up near my cervix.

Thanks! I think I will definitely start checking cervical position. I usually check CM internally, so I might as well check my cervix while I'm up there. Charting can be so glamorous!
