Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Leaked bm question.

I leak up to 2 oz on the side I'm not feeding. I catch it with a milkies contraption (link).

Am I correct to assume that this is all foremilk and shouldn't give her a bottle with all leaked milk b/c it'd be lacking the hindmilk?

Re: Leaked bm question.

  • I have no clue.  I used to feed on one side and pump on the other.  I'm assuming that's the same concept.

  • Do you wear them overnight? Thats when I normally wake up with soaked pads and always think it's such a waste of BM

Sorry I don't have an answer for you

  • That's talent!

I have to pump off a few ounces before I BF or else baby can't latch on.

No, it's really big and bulky. I just put it in the side that I'm not feeding on at the moment. I wish they had something smaller to catch milk with when I'm just walking around or sleeping. I woke up this morning with a hugely soaked pad (mostly because I slept on my stomach a bit I think).

this! Im pumping a lot now since he's feeding less. In the morning Ill feed one side, then pump both to make sure I got it all.

  • Can you mix it with pumped milk? I used a milkies also and that's what I did. You should be able to look at the milk and see how watery it is. You may be leaking some hindmilk if your baby is on the first breast for a while. I also helped the milk come out by pushing on my breast a little, I got about .5-1oz throughout the day and about 2oz in the morning.
