Monitors

What did you get for baby #2?

We have the video monitor for DD.  We were thinking about leaving it in the babys room and get DD an audio only monitor but she doesn't always make noise when she wakes up so I'm not sure what to do.

we did the opposite. but i am one of the people who see no reason to have a video monitor for a newborn. i like to see what my toddler is doing. now that dd1 is 2.5 and dd2 is 1, we are going to switch them. but id leave the video where you have it and get an audio for the new one.

  • I don't have any video monitors. I don't see a need for them.

We have 3 Sony 27-channel monitors that work very well for us.

  • can't you also just buy a second camera for your video monitor?

  • We got a second video monitor.  I set them on different channels and use one hand base to toggle back and forth between the rooms.

Like you my older toddler doesn't make a sound upon waking.

And... I liked being able to see each of them so that if they were both crying at the same time I could prioritize who to tend to based on what I was seeing in their cribs.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
