As if my life wasn't enough of a whirlwind right now with moving to NY in 4 weeks, my brothers wife called me a little while ago with HUGE news.
She (my SIL) has had Polycystic kidneys since she was a child and her function has been decreasing, to the point that she has recently (very very recently) been put on the Transplant list for a kidney. She was told it would most likely be appx 2 year waiting list before she'd likely get a match.
Well.......she's been active on the list for less than a month and got a call today and is on her way to the Medical Center for a KIDNEY TRANSPLANT!!!!!!! They found her a match!
So......... I am planning on driving up to NY first thing tomorrow morning to be there for my brother and SIL and I'm nervous as hell as I'll be driving 22 hours by myself.
Anyhow-- the prayers aren't for me but if you can spare any, please say some prayers for my SIL Sue that everything goes well with this transplant.
Big hugs to all, thanks for the prayers and I'll check back in, most likely from NY in 2 days!!

Many many many prayers for her!!!
My mom was also told that she would likely be on the list for 2-4 years and she was matched in under 3 months!!! Sometimes, by some miracle, the kidney is just a perfect match and it sounds like that's what happened in your SIL's case, too!!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
That is great for her. My Dad had a kidney transplant about 12 years ago for Polycystic Kidney Disease as well and he is doing great with it. Lots of good wishes being sent to your sister in law.
3 IUI's, 2 IVF's , 1 FET , 1 IVF w/ Gestational Carrier, and 1 FET using adopted embryo's = ALL BFNs

I'm a nurse, so I've seen plenty of people get transplants... but it always gives me goose bumps. Someone loses a loved one, but is so unselfish so that someone else's loved one can live... it's an amazing cycle. The best of luck to your sister in law!
