Anyone Experience a Molar Pregnancy?

So D&C went fine for the most part. No pain the day of, the next 2 days it was excrutiating, none of the prescribed ibuprofen helped to ease the pain at all. :( My post-op appt isn't until next Monday as RE is on vacation.

He suspected that it was a molar pregnancy, but I'm assuming I'll get the pathology results at my follow up appt. So I started googling (I know) and americanpregnancy.org is saying that you can't TTC until after a year later if you've had a molar pregnancy. Someone tell me this isn't the case? I'm crushed... As if D&C wasn't bad enough, now I may possibly need to take a full year off before TTC again?

Feeling so helpless...

Re: Anyone Experience a Molar Pregnancy?

  •  I did not experience a molar but I know someone who did. Why does your RE suspect its Molar?

  • And I am so sorry for you loss. I hope you feel better soon!!

  • He did a couple of u/s which all showed a sac, but broken up into little grapelike bunches which apparently is a sign of a molar pregnancy.

  • with my last m/c my old RE misdiagnosed me with a partial molar...Why does your RE think it was molar? My RE did b/c the tissue "looked" like molar tissue but even the path report said it was normal fetal tissue...even after that he still insisted that i see an oncologist..Turns out the path report was right..what he thought was molar cells was actually scar tissue!

My advice would be to wait for the path report..i was told i would have to wait 6 months to ttc if it has been a partial molar..do they think it is a full or partial molar pregnancy? did you ever see a HB? If you did then it is very unlikely that it is a true molar or partial molar..

I met a girl on SAL (MrsDiss) She had a partial molar..not sure if you are comfortable visiting that board but she was very helpful!!!!

I am sorry for your loss

  • I don't know about molars but I just wanted to say I am so sorry for what you're going through. None of us should have to deal with this loss.

  • I'm sorry that you're going through this.... I would suggest posting on TTCAL or MC/PL.  There are quite a few girls over there that have gone through partial molars (maybe even a couple that have gone through full).  Specifically Mrs.EmmaLouise or SuzP (TTCAL probably) should be able to help you.

  • I am so sorry that you have been in so much pain.  I have been thinking about you and wondering how you were doing.  I really really hope that it is not a molar pregnancy.  Hopefully you will get some answers too.  I can only imagine what it would be like if someone said you had to wait a year.  It just isn't fair.  I am thinking about you and let us know as soon as you find out.
