2nd Trimester

If one more person tells me to "rest while I can"...

I might explode!!!

My facebook status says "I'm exhausted". My mom left me a comment saying, "You ain't seen nothin' yet. Rest while you can." Wow. How encouraging...or not!

Did I miss something? Can I save up on sleep? Someone teach me how to do this, please!

Re: If one more person tells me to "rest while I can"...

  • LOL...sounds like my MIL.  She calls me daily to see how I am doing.  If I even mention being tired, which of course I am, she tells me I should go to bed early and try to nap during the day...when the babies come, there will be no sleeping.  Does she not think that I do this already.  DUH!!!

  • Ughh!!! I know how you feel...I'm expecting twins and everyone does the same thing to me. My husband's family is the worst with all their negative comments too. I am not the best with quick witty responses, so I just get annoyed after the fact and wish I would have said something smart! I would probably have finally had it and blow up on someone!

At least everyone's not telling you you're huge :)

  • I'm honestly really happy that I haven't hit that period people keep warning ME about where I won't be able to sleep during the night.  I still get like 10 hours of sleep each night because I'm exhausted by 10pm.  People sometimes know just the least helpful thing to say.
  • I know exactly how you feel, everyone tells me that and it is annoying as he1l!

  • I mean really, I'm pregnant! I know that there's a baby coming! I know that babies tend to need things like food and changing throughout the night. I'm not expecting to give birth to the first baby in history that is born sleeping through the night!

It's just the fact that everyone seems to assume "She has no idea what she's in for." Give me a little credit, here!

  • I get so frustrated when people say this......especially baby that don't have kids!! When my LO is born, I will sleep. It may not be the same schedule that I'm on now, but I will sleep and I will enjoy it.

Yeah we have "no idea what we're in for" And when the baby comes, if we actually DO do a good job, it is not because we are just a 'good mom', it's because it is a 'good baby.'

This is my first, so I haven't experienced it first hand, but I've heard my MIL say this more times than I can count.

hate to be *that* person, but it's not the same sleep at all.
