I know how you feel. I did not go to E's 4 month appt and I was in agony. I wanted to be there, even if she did not know the difference. I have made a vow that I will be at every appt from now on, unless there is an emergency and I cannot be there.
She is a cutie and your older daughter is BEAUTIFUL. Does B have blonde hair?
thanks
yeah Brooklyn is a total blondie so far. pretty funny. DH & I each have a blonde/blue-eyed sister, my dad is blue-eyed and used to be blonde (although now hes gray) and we were both fairly light haired as kids.
Oh soooo cute! As a pediatrician we LOVE when Dads come because they get to hear all the stuff you already know! And then they believe it more because they heard it straight from us. Also it's so heartwarming to see Dad juggling all the baby stuff etc. I think it's good for them. I have one family where Dad always brings the two little girls and it's just such a highlight of my day. I never think "oh bad mom, not coming" I think "good Dad, helping mom out and taking care of his kids!". just as a perspective.
Lots of times Dads come with lists written by mom and it's just adorable. I love that. They are like "please help me, or my wife will kill me". Sometimes I actually write out the reply since I know they may not remember it right, haha.

this is too funny - our ped hand wrote me a note on what to do. Now I understand why.
I think its totally heartwarming too but it cracks me up that us moms do this stuff everyday - however when the dads do it, they get tons of ooooh & awwws and those 'looks'.
DH took B to target one day because she puked all over & they were out & about away from home. He stopped in there to buy her a new outfit. He said he got a TON of 'awwwww!" and "wow - what a great dad!" - lol. No one does that to me when I take her to target!!! lmao!
Right, totally. I know such a double standard!! But I'm glad to hear the pedi wrote you a note too, now I don't feel so crazy. But you just have this feeling the dad will get home and completely forget what we said!!!

Re: feeling sad that DH is at B's 9mo appt
Oh honey, I am sorry to hear that. Do you ahve any recent pics of her? I would love to see more baby pics. Seeing baby pics cheers me up.
BTW-no matter if she is 9 mos or 19, she will ALWAYS be your baby.
