change in plans - disappointed / nervous

RE's office just called. . .change in plans.

After the u/s this morning I had 1 @ 16mm, and 2 in the low teens so they wanted me to stim one more night, come back in tomorrow and hopfully trigger for IUI thursday.  (i'm on cd16 & last night was my 12th night of stims)

well after reviewing my blood work, my estrodiol shot way up and i'm at risk of ohss so they want me to trigger tonight for IUI wednesday.  I'm so nervous - what if my one mature egg isn't ready??? last cycle i had 3 beautiful eggs and bfn.  and now it seems i have one little wimpy egg :(  of course i'm rooting for the underdog!!!!

  • Every story like this I read about ends up with a pregnancy. Maybe your next. Hang in there.

  • I'm sorry things didn't work out like you planned. They rarely do with IF. Look on the bright side.... at least you didn't have to face a cancelled cycle. I've only ever had one follie on trigger day... still, you gotta just push forward and keep your head up.

Good luck on your IUI this week. Hope everything else goes smoothly this month.

  • Maybe since your E2 is higher than expected those smaller ones are mature too?  I think the range is 150-200 for each mature follicle.

    Good luck!

  • Hey!  I'm from SJ too.  I'm also triggering tomorrow for an IUI on Wednesday, my first one.  Quite a lot we have in common  Wink

Who do you go to?  I'm with Dr. Manara.
