Re: ~~Bed Rest Mama's Monday check in!~~
Have an echo today and then an OB appointment at the MFM. Should be a busy day. I am excited to eat lunch somewhere with DH as we will not have time to come home between the appointments. Turning in a 24 hr UA so crossing my fingers there.... will update later!
QOTD: What do you miss the most by being on bed rest?
Playing with Ethan. Taking Ethan places. I was supposed to be on vacation from work this week cause his sitter is on vacation. We did not plan to go anywhere cause I knew bed rest was likely but I thought maybe we could go to the museum, park, train, etc... all the stuff stay at home moms get to do. Thought it would be a fun week for us before Lauren comes - but my sister is keeping him instead and she has lots of fun plans for him and the little girl she nannies. He will love it but it makes me sad that I cannot enjoy these things with him now. But sine my work is unexpectedly moving to Atlanta I will be a SAHM after Lauren is born and we will make up for lost time!
hi!
well, may as well add me to the list cuz i think i'm in this for the long haul!
Name: megan (megsok11)
EDD: November 11, 2009
Type of BR: strict - only quick shower, bathroom, food, and doctor appt. hope to get modified BR after 28wks, but i know i won't be able to go back to work. Getting 17P injections from home health weekly until 36wks, and received betamethasone injections at 24wks.
Since when: July 14, 2009 (23wk 0d)
Reason: one episode of spotting, vag US showed cervical funneling. no risk factors, first pregnancy, no spotting since that one time....weekly US varies depending on who performs it and which MFM doc i see....very frustrating.
Bed Rest Mama, thanks for keeping tabs on everyone. it's great to have support of those with similar situations!
QOTD: the think i miss most since being on bedrest is probably going on walks. i sit and look out the window all day on nice days and watch people walk down the block enjoying the nice weather. there is also a new young couple that rides bikes with their little boy every day up and down the block....i can't wait until i can do that with my baby! it's makes it so hard to be patient!
Update- God bless the makers of Benadryl...I slept well last night for the first time since starting bedrest. I've had issues with not being able to breathe while lying down and reflux and just generally being uncomfortable, so I've been sitting up on the couch for bed and even then was getting about 3-4 hours a night. Last night I got about 8 hours (broken into 2-3 shifs), So happy!
QOTD- I miss the freedom to run out to the store to pick something up, to go get a coffee when I felt like it, etc. I would have loved to have a few more dates with DH before LO arrives.
I had my ultrasound today, good news...everythings healthy, and its officially a girl
so happy!??
QOTD: What do you miss the most by being on bed rest?
I miss doing things with my DH, going out on my own when i want to, and just about all of my everyday tasks i can no longer do. oh, and picking up my dog!!?
I have my next Dr.s appt next Wednesday and I'm hoping they will take me off of bed rest then. They said at 36 weeks but I will be a few days shy so I am not sure if they will make me wait the few extra days or not. I can't believe I have made it 10 weeks on bed rest so far. As hard as it's been, it was gone by very fast. I can't wait to be free to go to dinner, shop and clean my house!
QOTD: What do you miss the most by being on bed rest?
I miss going out to dinner with DH and going out and hanging with friends. I will say I miss cleaning my house also.
Not really any new updates from me. I was a fingertip dilated on Wednesday whereas I was closed completely the week before. Contractions have been good when I monitor them twice a day. I was able to go get my 3d/4d ultrasound on saturday which was amazing. See pic in siggy! I have an appointment on wednesday so hopefully I won't be dilated anymore than last week. Baby shower is on saturday! I"m anxious to see what we get for Ethan so we can plan on what needs to be purchased from there. I'm anxious to have evrything ready in case he does come early.
QOTD: What do you miss the most by being on bed rest?
Going to the movies, out to dinner, ect. I feel like my DH and I are missing out on time together before Ethan comes. I also miss running to Target or other stores. Internet shopping is not as much fun!
Update: Well, contractions on Friday night that went up and down in intensity for about 5 hours - never enough to reach every 5 minutes, and finally subsided at around 3am on Saturday morning - never went to the hospital. I was afraid that if I went, they'd just shoot me up with terbutaline again to stop the contractions - I hate being on terb. We've got NST tomorrow and seeing OB on Thursday - when we'll be officially at 36 weeks! (13 weeks on BR) I'm hoping that the doc keeps her word and takes me of BR on Thursday. I hope to build up my strength and start walking around and get active enough to have a fighting chance when we go into labor for real.
QOTD: I miss getting dolled up and dressed for nice dinners with my husband. I miss lunches with my girlfriends. I've usually started shopping for small Christmas gifts for friends and family by about this time (I found that starting early was lighter on the wallet and I can put things away to cut out the stress of holiday shopping. We have a large family - and it helps to incrementally shop) so I miss doing the random shopping and browsing.
Update: The shower was super fun! My friends make a scrapbook for tha baby. It is superfancy and so cute. Way better than anything I could have done. But of course, I had a lovely migraine on Sunday to crown the weekend. That's 4 in 2 weeks. I think I am stressed about my induction on the 16th. Had my NST/AFI today and passed with flying colors.
QOTD: I am a sicko. I miss work. I miss getting up at 4am and getting to work by 5:30am and then rounding on post partum patients until 7am. As the chief on ob days, I'd be double checking the new interns work. At 7am, we'd go and learn about the new high risk patients admitted overnight and anything that happened to the old ones on L&D. By 7:30 we'd get a brief checkout of the antepartum patients. After that, it'd be scheduled c-sections with the second year resident-- she'd do them and I'd assist. Or I'd supervise intern vaginal deliveries or I'd get to do vacuum or forceps deliveries of my own. I'd help the second year round on the L&D patients in all that mess as well as do or assist on any emergent c-sections that day. If I was lucky, I'd steal a normal vaginal delivery of my own or two. And at 6pm, we'd check out to the night team, barring any high risk transports from other hospitals that needed to be worked up or ob traumas that needed to be admitted and assessed down in the ER, we'd check out the patients of the day that were still laboring or sitting on high risk, and then go home. I did this for 80 hours a week for 6 months a year for the past 3 years, and I miss it so so so so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starting Monday I was supposed to be doing gyn surgery and taking out uteruses and ovaries and fixing prolapse. Sigh. I guess I am still going through withdrawal.
I'm kind of new!! I've been on bedrest since last Tuesday night and just thought to come over here today!!
here is my info:
Name: Carrie (cagreeran)
EDD: Sept. 11
Type of BR: Modified (can walk around the house a little, bathroom, shower, make quick meal, not allowed to go up and down stairs more then 3 times a day)
Since when: July 27 (33w4d)
Reason: Intense BH Contractions the night of July 27. Went to Hsp. next morning was put on the monitor was having more then 6 an hour. Two shots to relax my uterus and was sent home on bedrest. Drs appt that Fri. was 1cen. so bedrest continues!
No new updates. I have an appt tomorrow with my OB tomorrow so hopefully all goes well.
QOTD: I miss spending time with Jack that doesn't involve me laying on the couch or the floor. We had plans to go to the zoo and beach this summer that we had to cancel. Also there has been a lot of road construction in our neighborhood and he has gotten to know all of the construction men and has even ridden on some of the vehicles. Our babysitter has taken photos but I miss being able to walk out there and see for myself.
