We have our first IVF consult in 2 weeks.  What can I expect to find out?  What should I ask about?  My H has extremely low sperm count and low motility.  Everything appears to be fine with me. We don't think we want to have more than one pregnancy, so we will likely only go through this once.

    You should find out your protocol and what your calendar will look like.  Your RE or Nurse will most likely go over the entire process with you and give you paperwork to review and sign.  If you are required to go to an IVF overview class or an injections class you may schedule that at your consult. 

    Since you are dealing with MFI, I would make to ask about doing ICSI.  Also, you should ask for a detailed list of all of the costs and when you are expected to make your payments.

    Thank you.  Great questions.  I was worried that I'd be so overwhelmed that I wouldn't be able to come up with good questions.

    when you sign your consents, you will need to have decisions made for what you want done w/the embryos that might be in excess and still viable. if you want to freeze/donate or if you just want to have them destroyed. this is particularly since you will only go through one pregnancy.

    Good point - I didn't even know donating was an option
