Feeling my babies move

This post is probably going to sound weird but I'm really apprehensive about feeling my babies move.  I've obviously had my positive test, 3 ultrasounds, and every possible symptom (as well as my growing tummy) but I know it's not going to feel really REAL until I actually feel them. I'm extremely excited but I just grow nervous daily about the type of parent I'm going to be and it's not going to hit me I guess until they hit me! (bad joke I know) Oh well. Am I alone in this? Am I terrible? TIA Zip it!

Re: Feeling my babies move

  • It actually didn't hit me until a few weeks ago when I started feeling actual body parts.  Now he pushes against me with his hand when I push on him and it's like I finally realize there is a person in my belly.

    Your feelings are totally normal!

  • It took a while to recognize the movements as movements. I felt flutters for so long but I kept thinking they were muscle fatigue or blood pumping or something.

    Good Luck!! It is awesome.

  • Mine was itchy more than anything at first. Then it was body parts but even then, it still never really hit me until she was born.  But I'd say too, totally normal :)
  • i felt the same as you.. it wasnt obvious to me that i'm carrying our LO until he/she started moving around down there.

this is honestly one of the most amazing things i've ever done and i'll glad admit i'm loving every minute of being prego. :)

  • I love now that I am feeling flutters, thumps and buzzes, it makes it feel so much more real. I can't wait until they have more substance.

I know exactly what you mean.

  • =) sounds perfectly normal to me. it never really hits you until there's movement.
  • I am totally right there with you...nearly 18wks and I still haven't felt anything...(I have a drs appt tues so my apprehension is way up right now)

Symptoms, and ultrasounds are just surreal...the last ultrasound I had was during a m/c scare (ER trip while DH was away at guard duty) and everything was fine and I got to see baby moving like crazy, enough to make the u/s tech comment....I couldn't feel a thing and it was just weird...I can't wait, I think it will really help me calm down and focus on the truth of what's coming...

Hope its soon for both of us!! GL :)
