Feeling a little guilty

Last week I ordered a ton of clothes from Target. I got 6 sweaters, 4 pairs of pants, 3 dresses, 2 tops, a jacket, and something else (can't remember what- I just remember it was 17 items) for $130.

So why do I feel guilty now that the big box came in the mail and I'm looking at all these items?

Re: Feeling a little guilty

  • Are you using the "I'll send back whatever doesn't fit" excuse. That usually helps me get through the initial guilt.

  • Problem is... everything fits! And even worse, it's hard to justify returning the stuff when it was so cheap- I keep saying "Where else am I going to find a cardigan for $6?"
  • I tried on stuff at the Motherhood outlet yesterday that was like $40 just for one shirt. I am totally going on the target website and the Old Navy website today. I have a BIL who works for gap and I get his ON discount. WoooHooo!

I have discovered that I don't like any of the under belly fitting pants so I only have one pair of jeans and one pair of capris to wear. All the hand-me-downs I got are underbelly.

  • what you need to do is take that guilt, throw it in the empty box and toss it in the trash!

now tell me more about that $6.00 cardigan!

  • You're probably having one of those, "how can I spend money on myself when I've got a baby on the way" days.  In spite of that, you've still got four months of pregnancy, got to have clothes that fit.

Tell baby that if Mommy's happy, baby's happy and these clothes help Mommy feel good.  At those prices, everybody should be happy!

  • Seriously, check out the clearance maternity at Target.

Sometimes Kohls has decent stuff on sale/clearance too.

I've def decided this purchase is it for maternity clothes and a delusional side of me thinks maybe I won't have to buy any for LO #2 when that day comes...

  • It sounds like a bargain to me. However, every time I buy myself something I feel guilty.?

  • God, do I wish we had Target in Canada.  There are two maternity chains here and the dept stores have crappy maternity sections (if at all).  This should make you feel better.  I spent $250 and got, 2 maternity/nursing bras, 3 pairs of pants, 1 pair of shorts and 3 tops at Motherhood.  I spent $50 at Walmart and got 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of jeans and 1 shirt.  I spent another $20 at old Navy and got 1 tank, 4 ts and one other top (I also used a $50 giftcard here.  All told, I spent $370 on 18 items and I will need to get at least 2 more pairs of pants in the fall because all the ones I have now are capris and I'll freeze my Canadian @$$ off in Capris in Oct!
